摘要： A spacer profile for an insulating glazing unit for maintaining a space between glazing panes includes a profile body formed from a first heat insulating material that has, viewed in a cross section perpendicular to a longitudinal direction, outer side walls extending in a height direction and that has a distance in a transverse direction smaller than a first width, each side wall having an inner protrusion protruding towards the opposite side wall into a recess which is open to the inner side, and a diffusion barrier film made from a second material and firmly bonded with the profile body and, viewed in the cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, extending over the profile body on the outer side of the spacer profile and continuous thereto in the height direction on the outside of the side walls and/or in the same to a second height and into the protrusions.

摘要： A flexible spacer body has two opposing faces adapted to engage the inner surfaces of glazing structures to define an insulating glazing unit. The spacer body may be desiccated polymeric foam such as a silicone foam rubber or EPDM. An adhesive capable of bonding the spacer body to the glazing structure is carried by both of the faces. The adhesive may be from about 0.050 mm to about 1.524 mm thick. The adhesive material also has the properties of low argon gas and low moisture permeability. The adhesive comprises polymers where butyl rubber and/or polyisobutylene polymers together make up the majority of the polymers. The adhesive may also comprise other materials as needed to make it pressure sensitive and to impart a water resistant bond to glass glazing structures. The space assembly may include additional materials to secure the adhesive to the spacer body.

The glass unit may further include one or more intermediate layers contained within the interior space and one or more floating suspension systems for supporting the intermediate layers.

摘要： This disclosure provides spacers for smart windows. In one aspect, a window assembly includes a first substantially transparent substrate having an optically switchable device on a surface of the first substrate. The optically switchable device includes electrodes. A first electrode of the electrodes has a length about the length of a side of the optically switchable device. The window assembly further includes a second substantially transparent substrate a metal spacer between the first and the second substrates. The metal spacer has a substantially rectangular cross section, with one side of the metal spacer including a recess configured to accommodate the length of the first electrode such that there is no contact between the first electrode and the metal spacer. A primary seal material bonds the first substrate to the metal spacer and bonds the second substrate to the metal spacer.

The spacer may seal the between-pane space from gas exchange with a surrounding environment and hold the opposing panes in a spaced-apart relationship. In some examples, the spacer includes a primary sealant layer, a secondary sealant layer, and a gas diffusion barrier layer positioned between the primary sealant layer and the secondary sealant layer. The gas diffusion barrier layer may define a first side and a second side opposite the first side. Depending on the application, the first side of the gas diffusion barrier layer may be positioned in contact with the primary sealant layer while the second side of the gas diffusion barrier layer is positioned in contact with the secondary sealant layer.

The spacer assembly includes an inner spacer member and an outer spacer member that are fabricated in a linear fashion and then folded into a frame. The outer spacer member may be initially formed in a flat configuration, cut to width, and then wrapped around the inner spacer member to form the spacer assembly. The outer spacer member carries the desiccant of the spacer assembly. The outer spacer member may also be gunned directly to the inner spacer member.
