摘要： A door hinge system enables a hinged door to be opened in multiple directions, not only at either lateral side, but also either forward or backward at either lateral side of the door, even though the system has a simple construction. In the door hinge system, when the hinged door is pivoted and opened from one lateral side, a hinge pin and at least one guide pin on the hinged door at the lateral side escapes from a hinge pin groove and a guide pin groove of a bracket assembly at the lateral side while a hinge pin at the other lateral side rotates on its own axis and a guide pin at the other lateral side is pivoted along a guide pin groove of a bracket assembly at the other lateral side. Each of the hinge pin grooves extend along an arc constituting a circumference of an imaginary circle whose center is positioned at one of opposite hinge points and whose radius is equal to a distance between centers of the first and second hinge pins.

摘要： A motor vehicle door, particularly for use as a rear door for a station wagon type or a sports utility type vehicle is openable from either the left side or the fight side. Mirror image mechanisms are provided at each side of the door to provide locking, unlocking and hinging at each side. A safety cam is included in each mechanism and the mechanisms communicate with each other so that the unlocking of one side prevents the unlocking of the other side. When both sides are locked, either one or the other side may be opened, in which case the unopened side acts as a hinge. The safety cam interlock arrangement prevents the opening of both sides at the same time.

摘要： An apparatus for opening and closing a lid disposed rotatably on an opening of a box body selectively in two directions includes a pair of operating members independently movably supported one each at opposite ends of the lid, a spring member having a pair of rotary shafts disposed on an inner side of the lid so as to advance or retreat under the influence of resilient pressure of the spring member, two pairs of storage mouths formed in the edge of the opening of the box body at four corner portions thereof, two pairs of lock members pivotally supported inside the storage mouths for detachably supporting the rotary shafts above the storage mouths, and two pairs of rotary gear mechanisms attached to the lock members so that each pair of rotary gear mechanisms are interconnected to each other and the two pairs of rotary gear mechanisms are interlocked with each other. The rotary shafts are connected to the operating members so as to urge the operating members outwardly away from each other by virtue of the resilient pressure of the spring member. Each of the rotary shafts connected to the operating members is released from the lock members by a pressing operation of the corresponding operating member. The pressing operation of one of the operating members to open the lid in one direction causes one pair of lock members on the side being opened to be rotated and plunged into the corresponding pair of storage mouths due to the interlocking between the two pairs of rotary gear mechanisms.

摘要： A switching device includes operating members independently movably supported at opposite sides of a lid, a spring having a pair of rotary shaft parts disposed on the inner side of the lid so as to advance or retreat under the influence of the resilient pressure of the spring, and lock members disposed on opposite sides of an opening of a box body so as to detachably fasten the rotary shaft parts thereto. The rotary shaft parts are connected to the operating members so as to urge the operating members outwardly away from each other by virtue of the resilient pressure of the spring and are removed from the lock members by depressing motion the operating members. Owing to the construction, the lid is ensured to produce an infallible shut state on the box body by bringing the rotary shaft parts into engagement with the lock members due to the resilient pressure of the spring. The lid can also be infallibly opened in either of two directions by selectively removing the rotary shaft parts from the lock members by depressing either of the operating members.
