Preferred embodiment provides a latch assembly for a window having first and second parallel edges slidably disposed between parallel first and second guiderails of a frame and can have a housing attached to a third window edge perpendicular to the first and second parallel sides, a latch handle connected to a drive gear engaged to a locking element slidably disposed within a channel of a housing in response to rotation of the drive gear about a pivot; the locking element movable from a biased extended position to a retracted position in response to rotation of the drive gear by a force sufficient to overcome the bias; and the first guiderail having a plurality of recesses spaced along the window travel path to receive the first end of the locking element in the operational position.

    • The invention provides a door for a cabin in a construction machine, the door including a pulling handle portion to be pulled in a closing direction of the door from the inside of the cabin and preventing the pulling handle portion from misuse as a riding handle, the riding handle including a first gripped portion extending in a first extending direction to be gripped by an operator when the operator rides in the cabin. The door includes a cabin frame having an entrance and a riding handle projecting from an fringe portion fringing the entrance of the cabin frame in a specific direction. The door has a door frame vertically extending and a door glass to be attached to the door frame. The door frame has a pulling handle portion, which is attached to the cabin frame pivotally around a vertical pivot axis so as to allow the door to open and close the entrance of the cabin and projects in a direction having a component of a direction away from the door glass to be gripped for operating the door in the closing direction from the inside of the cabin. The pulling handle portion is disposed so as to be aligned with the riding handle in front and rear directions outside the cabin when the door is fully opened. the pulling handle portion satisfies at least one of the following directions: a first condition that the height position of the second gripped portion is offset upward from the height position of the riding handle; and a second condition that the second gripped portion of the pulling handle portion extends in a second extending direction different from the first extending direction.

    • A door lock for locking a sliding door on a transit vehicle. The lock has a base for attachment to the transit vehicle and a lock cam having a slot for engaging a door lock element attached to the door. A pivot is connected to the base and to the lock cam to provide a rotary connection of the lock cam to the base. A lock actuator is attached to the base. The lock actuator includes a moveable actuator portion for engaging the lock cam to prevent rotation of the lock cam to lock the door. The actuator also has an energized actuator portion for withdrawing the moveable actuator portion from engagement with the lock cam to release the lock cam and unlock the door. The energized actuator portion is connectable with a control system for the transit vehicle door. The lock also has a manual release mounted to engage the moveable actuator portion to move it from engagement with the lock cam to release the lock cam and hence unlock the door. A sprag engaged with the manual release prevents locking of the door after the manual release has been used.

The first actuator can be pivotably coupled to a first support structure about a first axis. Moreover, the first actuator can include an engaging tip, a first engagement and a second engagement. In response to the movement of the arm of the second actuator about the second axis, the first engagement of the first actuator can rotate about the first axis to move the engaging tip to release the door latch.
