摘要： A smart cable lock is provided that is configured to mechanically secure items and provide an automatic determination that securing is achieved. The smart cable may be integrated into a vehicle, or otherwise may communicate with a vehicle. The vehicle includes one or more ports configured to house the cable when not in use. In some embodiments, an accessory includes one or more ports configured to engage with the connector. In some embodiments, the cable is affixed to the vehicle at one end, using a retractor, for example, and can be unspooled, intertwined with equipment, and then secured to a port on the vehicle. The smart cable lock secures and releases a latch based on user indications and authorizations. For example, if the cable is destroyed or damaged, or an unauthorized indication is made, the cable lock system may sound an alarm, or otherwise alert the user.

摘要： A bicycle lock includes a housing having a retractable spool positioned therein, a flexible cable releasably wound about the retractable spool and partially exposed exterior of the housing, a fastener attached to the flexible cable and located exterior of the housing, and a locking mechanism located at the housing and selectively engaged with the fastener and the retractable spool. Advantageously, when the fastener is inserted into the locking mechanism and the locking mechanism is disposed at a first position, the flexible cable has a fixed longitudinal length. Advantageously, when the fastener is removed from the locking mechanism and the locking mechanism is disposed at a second position, the flexible cable has an adjustable longitudinal length. Notably, the first position is a locked position, and the second position is an unlocked position.

摘要： An example embodiment of the present invention includes a security device for secure attachment to an object. The security device comprises a housing, a cable, and a spool assembly. The cable defines an anchor end non-removably secured in the housing, a removable end, and a loop therebetween. The spool assembly is rotatably supported by, and at least partially enclosed within, the housing. The spool assembly defines a cable winding portion and a capture portion. The loop defines a first effective length when the removable end of the cable is received by the capture portion. The loop defines a second effective length smaller than the first effective length when the removable end of the cable is received by the capture portion and the spool assembly is rotated in a winding direction such that at least part of the cable is wound onto the cable winding portion of the spool assembly.

A cable locking mechanism removably binds and locks an end portion of the cable operably inserted in the cable receiving mechanism. As referenced herein, various mount couplers are effective for binding the cable lockbox to respective vehicles, which may also be disclosed with alternative embodiments.

The locking member includes a key portion for unlocking the tightening mechanism when the cable is removed from the item. The tightening mechanism includes a spool and a ratchet mechanism. Alternate embodiments for locking and unlocking the ratchet mechanism are disclosed. The tightening mechanism carries sense loops which if compromised actuate an onboard audible alarm. The cables are part of one or more of the sense loops. The device is configured to sound a security gate alarm upon passing through the gate and upon simply reaching a certain distance from the gate. The tightening mechanism includes a housing having a flip-up handle for tightening the ratchet mechanism to tighten the cable.
