    • A skeleton unit to mount mosaic plates, includes a main body section and an extension section. The main body section is integrally formed by strip pieces perpendicularly crossing each other to provide a grille shape. The extension section extends out from four edges of the main body section and is integrally formed with the main body section. The extension section includes prolongation pieces which respectively extend out from both ends of each strip piece, and parallel strips which connect with the outside ends of each prolongation piece on the same side and are in parallel with the edges of the main body section respectively. The parallel strip has lap joint hole portions, which penetrates the parallel strips and are used to overlap another skeleton unit. The sum of double the length of the prolongation piece and the width of the parallel strip is equal to the length of the grid.

    • A screw slot runner system for suspension ceiling grids is disclosed. The system provides runners having a central web, an enclosed bulb at the upper edge of the web, and a downwardly opened channel at the lower edge of the web. Opposing, inturned lips define the channel opening and permit insertion of T-bolts or the like to support accessories from the grid system. The runner connections are structured to provide a mitered type joint appearance even though a full miter joint is not provided. In one embodiment, separate end connector clips are provided to join main run runner modules, and the connector clips are provided with openings through which cross run end connectors project to interconnect the cross runs and main runs.

    • A structural system is comprised of two components. The first component is an I-shaped bearing member having an upper flange and a lower flange connected by a web. The upper and lower flanges have undercuts formed therein. The second component is a connection member having a notch in each corner for engaging the undercuts in the upper and lower flanges. The components of this system may be used to construct a structural component comprising a plurality of I-shaped bearing members positioned parallel to one another. A plurality of connection members interconnect the bearing members; the two upper notches of the connection member engage the undercuts in the upper flanges of two adjacent bearing members while the two lower notches engage the undercuts in the lower flanges of two adjacent bearing members. A method of constructing a structural component is comprised of positioning a plurality of bearing members parallel to one another. A plurality of connection members having cam surfaces are inserted between adjacent bearing members. Each connection member is rotated to first bring the cam surface into contact with the adjacent bearing members and then to lock the connection member in place.

    • A clamp is disclosed for joining fiberglass reinforced plastic grid members in order to provide a corrosive-resistant frame work for a suspended ceiling. The grid members are of an inverted T configuration. The flanges of the cross members are cut back so that the web of each cross member rests on the flange of a support member with the flanges of the support and cross members flush. The keepers of an integrally formed stainless steel clamp extend through holes in the web of the support member on either side of the web of the cross member. The legs of the clamp straddle the web of the cross member and a cross piece of the clamp is received in a notch in the top of the web. In this position the clamp is stressed and so provides a force holding the cross member on the flange of the support member.
