    • A flashing and drainage system for use in cavity wall construction, including a flashing member is sized and shaped to be received within a cavity of the wall and over a base member. The flashing member includes a lower flashing portion and an upper flashing portion. The system includes a water permeable body disposed on the flashing member including a plurality of weep tabs extending on the lower flashing portion and spaced apart to correspond to weep holes formed through the wall and a plurality of porous bodies positioned on the upper flashing portion. The water permeable body has a porosity sufficient to permit water to pass therethrough but substantially insufficient to permit mortar and debris to pass therethrough.

    • A water drainage component comprises a foundation engaging member, a structural wall engaging member, a gutter, and at least one water drainage channel. The foundation engaging member is configured to abut a substantially planar portion of a foundation of a building structure. The structural wall engaging member is substantially perpendicular to the foundation engaging member, and at least a portion of the structural wall engaging member is configured to abut a structural wall of a building structure. The gutter defines a water collection area configured to collect water flowing along at least a portion of the structural wall engaging member in the direction of the foundation engaging member, and the water drainage channel defines a conduit in fluid communication with the water collection area extending along a portion of the foundation engaging member, and the water drainage channel is configured to drain water collected in the gutter.

    • Embodiments of the present application relate to systems, devices, and methods for collecting falling mortar. Generally, these systems and methods comprise a masonry wall and one or more mortar stoppers. A mortar stopper may comprise a longitudinally extending surface comprising an indicator that defines an inserting portion and a mortar collecting portion, both of which being integral to the mortar stopper. The inserting portion may be inserted into mortar spaces along a backside of the wall such that the mortar collecting portion extends from the backside of the wall. Thereby, the mortar collecting portion collects mortar falling from the mortar spaces of the backside of the wall. The indicator may be positioned along the longitudinally extending surface such that the indicator indicates an appropriate length of insertion of the inserting portion into the wall sufficient for the mortar stopper to support the mortar collecting portion and the falling mortar collected by the mortar collecting portion. Additional embodiments are disclosed and claimed.

    • Devices and methods for protecting weepholes in brick veneer structures against insects and other pests while still allowing drainage and for helping prevent mortar portions and other objects from blocking the weepholes. A weephole device is described that includes a substantially vertical spacer portion having a pair of side walls that are maintained in a spaced relation to one another to define a gap for the passage of water or other fluids. The spacer portion is shaped and sized to be inserted into a weephole space between a pair of bricks. A tray is affixed to the spacer portion and includes a substantially horizontally disposed tray portion that is shaped and sized to capture falling mortar portions or other objects that might block the weephole were they to fall behind it within the air gap between the brick veneer wall and the structural inner wall. The rear edge of the tray portion has an edge that is intended to contact the inner wall when the weephole device is emplaced. In preferred embodiments described herein, the edge is upturned.

    • A mortar collecting device adapted to be located adjacent a wall surface of a masonry or brick wall under construction and collect excess mortar extruded from between rows of masonry during construction of the wall. Such mortar collecting devices each posses an upper surface means adapted to collect mortar but repel moisture in the form of water droplets which falls on such surface means. Repulsion of water is accomplished by providing an upper surface means having an inclined portion sufficiently inclined to the horizontal when such device is in mortar collecting position so as to cause moisture to slide off, but being insufficiently inclined so as to cause mortar to slide off. Alternatively the mortar collecting device may have a plurality of passageway means extending vertically therethrough of dimensions sufficient to allow moisture to pass therethrough, but of dimensions insufficient to allow mortar to pass therethrough.
