    • A clothes washing machine is specially adapted to protect pocket-portable electronic devices from damage. A basket is aligned with an opening for receiving clothes to be washed. A door covers the opening during washing of clothes. An electromagnetic loop is positioned at the periphery of the opening so that all clothing loaded into the clothes washing machine passes through the electromagnetic loop. The electromagnetic loop is also positioned so that no permanent ferrous structures of the clothes washing machine are located between the electromagnetic loop and the opening. A detector circuit is coupled to the electromagnetic loop for generating an electronic detection signal in response to a predetermined change in an electromagnetic characteristic sensed across the electromagnetic loop corresponding to a pocket-portable electronic device being present at the opening. A washing machine controller coupled to the detector circuit responds to the detection signal to generate an alarm and to inhibit a washing cycle (e.g., introduction of water into the basket) until a user provides a manual override signal to the washing machine controller.

    • A clothes treating apparatus is disclosed. More particularly, the present invention relates to a clothes treating apparatus which includes a RFID reader capable of reading information of clothes with RF tags such that the information of the clothes may be identified via an external computer. According to the clothes treating apparatus, the RFID reader is used and the information on treating states or positions of the clothes is identified via an external computer or display device. As a result, it can be simple to manage each item of clothes. Furthermore, the information on the treating states of the clothes may be identified. As a result, troubles of treating the clothes again unnecessarily as well as fabric damage may be saved.

    • Biological inspection procedures and surface sanitization procedures are incorporated with a garment providing service to look for and monitor the presence of microbes, such as bacteria in particular, and to eliminate such microbes within the garment service. Biological inspection procedures can be conducted on the garments themselves, or any surface of the garment facility, such as a surface onto which the garments may come into contact after laundering. Preferably, a washing procedure is conducted based upon a cleaning formulation to also minimize the presence of microbes. Garments are preferably inspected after they are laundered and ready for delivery to the customer. Facility surfaces, such as sorting and/or folding tables that may be utilized after laundering, are sanitized and then may be tested in accordance with the present invention to minimize the potential for contamination of garments from such surfaces. Optionally, the equipment that is used after laundering for such activities can be dedicated for processing garments in accordance with the biological inspection service as such garments are to be delivered to a customer, such as a processor within the food industry.
