    • A method for dyeing a textile substrate, in particular for dyeing a textile substrate with reactive dyes, is described in which the textile substrate is brought in contact with a dyeing liquor containing at least one dye and after a predetermined dyeing time has elapsed, the dyed textile substrate is rinsed. The at least one dye which has not been fixed by the textile substrate and is present in the dyeing liquor is destroyed by a chemical and/or physical treatment to such an extent that the dyeing liquor is largely colourless hereafter, whereby the textile substrate being rinsed with the largely decolourised liquor. A device for carrying out the method comprises a vessel for receiving the textile substrate to be dyed and a circulation system for the dyeing liquor, where a reactor through which the dyeing liquor flows is assigned to the vessel and/or the circulation system and where inside the reactor the chemical and/or the physical treatment of the liquor to be decolourised is carried out.

    • A method and apparatus for continuously treating a web of fabric in a first treatment section and a second treatment section through which the web of fabric passes. The first treatment section includes a desizing station. The desizing station includes an application stage having a plurality of spray nozzles, a dwell stage, a mechanical liquid removal device and a wash stage. A first return conduit fluidly connects the wash stage to the application stage. The method includes applying a size containing size carrier on the web of fabric to desize the web of fabric. The size containing size carrier is removed from the web of fabric after the size carrier has taken effect upon the web of fabric. At least a portion of the removed size containing size carrier is added to the size carrier solution before the solution is applied to an upstream portion of the web of fabric.

    • The invention relates to “closed loop” processes, systems and compositions for providing flame retardant properties to substrates containing at least about 5 weight percent of non-thermoplastic material, such as non-thermoplastic fibers, fibrous compositions or fabrics, and to treated substrates. The processes and systems are environmentally friendly, and advantageously conserve chemical compounds and water by recycling flame retardant composition.The processes of the invention generally comprise: (a) applying a flame retardant composition containing one or more flame retardant substances, an aqueous liquid and one or more adhesion agents to substrates; (b) removing excess flame retardant composition from the substrates; (c) permitting the substrates to dry to a low moisture content; and (d) recycling excess flame retardant composition; wherein the flame retardant composition does not contain an amount of a dye or other agent that could contaminate the flame retardant composition.A preferred “closed loop” system of the invention is shown in FIG. 1.
