The maleic acid homopolymer may include from about 2 to about 5 maleic acid repeating units and the maleic anhydride homopolymer may include from about 2 to about 5 maleic anhydride repeating units.

摘要： The present invention provides a surface treatment agent for metal materials, with which it is possible to form on a metal material a coat that is satisfactory overall in terms of properties such as corrosion resistance, adhesion, water resistance, alkali resistance, and solvent resistance, and that has excellent corrosion resistance and adhesion even when exposed to high-temperature environments; and a metal material having a surface treatment coat. This surface treatment agent for metal materials includes (A) an organopolysiloxane compound having a weight-average molecular weight of 400-10,000 and including a unit (X) the molecule of which has a phenyl group, and a unit Y which includes a group having a C1-3 alkyl group, the ratio (β/α) of the molar amount (α) of the units (X) and the molar amount (β) of all constituent units being 1.5 or greater, (B) coated aluminum particles surface-treated by an organosiloxane compound each single molecule of which has a hydrolysable group linked to a silicon atom; and (C) at least one component selected from the group consisting of metal oxide particles and clay minerals.

摘要： A corrosion inhibiting coating for metal objects as well as a method for applying a coating is described. Said coating comprising at least one cerium oxide and at least one polymer. The polymer comprises at least one cathecholic component covalently bound thereto, and the at least one polymer displays a net positive charge at a pH of 7. The material inventive coating is environmental friendly and does not display serious health risks. Further an excellent corrosion inhibition is obtained for metals, even for carbon steel. The corrosion the properties of a coated surface is comparable with those of stainless steel.

The corrosion inhibiting compositions may be used to maintain effective amounts of (1) an amino acid-based polymer, such as a polyaspartic acid compound, and (2) a dispersible and/or soluble tin compound in the aqueous system. The corrosion inhibiting compositions include the amino acid-based polymer and a dispersible and/or soluble tin compound and may optionally include a polycarboxylic acid chelating agent and/or a carboxylate/sulfonate functional copolymer.

Corrosion inhibitors including sugar acids and calcium compounds, polyacrylate and calcium compounds, and/or zinc and calcium compounds are used with hypochlorite sources to enhance the longevity and performance of electrochemical cells as well as reducing corrosion of metal in contact with the generated hypochlorite sources. The methods for generation employ a variety of electrochemical cells, beneficially including use of portable electrochemical cell system for production of corrosion-inhibited hypochlorite cleaning solutions.
