摘要： An antimicrobial ceramic glazing composition contains one or more antimicrobial agents disposed therein. Methods for making and using the glazing composition are disclosed, as well as substrates having a fired antimicrobial glaze thereon. The antimicrobial agents comprise metallic oxides, with a subset of the disclosed combinations exhibiting synergistic effect in fired glazes.

摘要： The invention relates to a package of performance additives for bitumen or bituminous compositions including an acidic adjuvant and a H2S scavenger chosen from organic or inorganic copper salts. The invention also relates to the use of said H2S scavenger in order to reduce the H2S emissions of bitumen or of a bituminous composition treated with the acidic adjuvant. The invention additionally relates to a process for the preparation of a bituminous composition. The preparation process according to the invention makes it possible to obtain bitumen/crosslinked polymer compositions having better mechanical and dynamic properties in comparison with the bitumen/crosslinked polymer compositions of the prior art, while substantially reducing the releases of hydrogen sulfide (H2S).

摘要： Disclosed are various methods for reducing levels of elemental sulfur within gypsum products such as wall board. Gypsum sometimes includes increased levels of elemental sulfur. Such sulfur can be corrosive and otherwise harmful at elevated levels. The disclosure contemplates reacting the elemental sulfur with copper to copper sulfide. This reaction has the benefit of reducing the levels of elemental sulfur present within the final gypsum product. The copper can be added at any of a variety of locations in the manufacturing process. This is a very efficient method for reducing elemental sulfur in the production of gypsum products.

摘要： The invention provides a sulphur pellet comprising at least one H2S-suppressant, comprising in the range of from 60 to 100 wt % elemental sulphur, based on the total weight of the pellet. The invention further provides a process for the manufacture of sulphur pellets comprising at least one H2S-suppressant, comprising the steps of: (a) mixing elemental sulphur, one or more H2S-suppressants and optionally a filler in a mixing unit to obtain a mixture; (b) shaping and/or palletizing the mixture obtained in step (a) in a palletizing unit to obtain H2S-suppressant-comprising sulphur pellets. The invention further provides a process for the manufacture of a sulphur-comprising asphalt paving mixture comprising the steps of: (i) preheating bitumen at a temperature of between 140 and 180° C.; (ii) preheating aggregate at a temperature of between 140 and 180° C.; (iii) mixing the hot bitumen with the hot aggregate in a mixing unit, wherein sulphur pellets comprising H2S-suppressant according to the invention are added in at least one of the steps (i), (ii) or (iii). The invention also provides the use of a sulphur-comprising asphalt paving mixture comprising H2S-suppressant in the paving of roads.

While prior treatments of cellulose with biotoxic metal compounds have given improved resistance to decay, these treatments have not been entirely satisfactory where the fiber had to be refined before use. Refining energy was very high and fiber length loss was substantial. Treatment of cellulose fiber with dideyldimethylammonium chloride (DDAC) or bromide (DDAB), these materials in combination with low levels of copper, or low levels of copper alone, has given a product with very good biostability without a major increase in refining energy or loss of fiber length. The treated fiber is particularly advantageous as a reinforcing component for cement board products.
