    • An internal chamber incorporated with the cap of a container, for example, a disposable beverage bottle. The internal chamber has an internal bore designed to hold a powder or liquid that can be released into the container. The chamber is inserted into a bottle or similar container when the cap is placed over the opening. A push-button on the top of the cap advances an actuator within the internal bore to push a diaphragm out of the distal end outlet port in the chamber to release the ingredient(s) within the internal chamber into the container. The diaphragm also has two or more peripheral guide rails to ensure that it remains aligned with the chamber housing during those movements. Alternative embodiments utilize a dome cover over the push-button. In use, the cap of the container can be removed, which will simultaneously remove the chamber, allowing the liquid in the container to be consumed or decanted.

    • A device for receiving and dispensing liquids has a plurality of piston-cylinder units (1, 1′, 1″) which are respectively arranged on a piston plate (2) and a cylinder plate (3). The liquid is received and dispensed by displacing the pistons (1′) in the cylinders (1″) by changing the distance between the plates (2, 3), perpendicularly to the plate planes, by means of a drive mechanism (6) and a plate guiding system. The volume can be determined by an upper abutment (4) and a lower abutment (5), at least one of said abutments being regulatable by a regulating means (8). The device is suitable for handling precise volumes of a larger number of piston-cylinder units (1, 1′, 1″) in a technically simple manner. To this end, the same receiving and dispensing volumes of the piston-cylinder units (1, 1′, 1″) are ensured with low requirements in terms of the surface parallelism of the plate planes during the movement in the plate guiding device, by structuring and arranging the abutments (4, 5) in such a way that the parallelism of the plates (2, 3) is obtained in the upper (9) and lower (10) abutment positions.

    • A drip retainer for preventing residual fluid in a spout from dripping includes a tubular resilient member which is flattened at one end so that opposite walls are biased together. An opposite end of the tubular member is connected in a liquid-tight manner to the spout. A cylindrical clamp is mounted on the flattened portion of the tubular member. A hollow area inside the cylindrical clamp is filled with resilient biasing material. The biasing material, on either side of the flattened portion, urges the tubular member to a flat closed position. When liquid is pumped through the spout under pressure, the liquid urges the flattened portion of the tubular member to an open position. When pressure subsides, the biasing material urges the flattened portion back to its closed position, so that residual fluid clinging to inside walls of the spout cannot escape.
