    • A power bucket having a first and second swing arm, each having two ends. The first end of each swing arm are pivotally secured together. A first bucket half is then pivotally secured to the other end of the swing arm and, likewise, a second bucket half is pivotally mounted to the second swing arm and the bucket halves are in turn pivotally secured together. A first and second hydraulic actuator are operatively connected between the first swing arm and the first bucket half and the second swing arm and the second bucket half, respectively. The hydraulic rods for the actuators are movable between a retracted position in which the bucket is open, and an extended position in which the bucket is closed.

    • The invention relates to a grapple assembly in which a single actuator is used to operate the arms of the grapple but each arm is able to at least partly open and/or close independently of the other arms. A grapple assembly comprises an elongate core comprising a linear actuator; means for connecting the first end of the elongate core to a grapple hoist; a plurality of grapple arms connected to the second end of the elongate core by a pivotal connection oriented substantially perpendicularly to the elongate core; a plurality of elastically deformable connectors, each connector having coupled directly or indirectly to a connection region of the elongate core and coupled to one of the grapple arms at a point on the respective grapple arm spaced apart from the pivotal connection of the respective grapple arm to the elongate core, wherein the linear actuator is able to be actuated to move the connection region of the elongate core relative to the second end of the elongate core to open and/or close the plurality of grapple arms, and wherein the elastically deformable connectors permit each grapple arm to at least partly open and/or close independently of the other grapple arms upon exertion of an external force on the respective grapple arm.

    • Actuator mechanism for a two-bucket grab device and having two grab arms arranged to move as pincers with respect to one another, has two hydraulic pivot motors with journals of the respective pivot shafts projecting from the motor housing and supporting the grab arms. Each of the pivot motors has a cylindrical tubular piece provided with an internal thread designed to engage an external thread on the respective pivot shaft. The tubular piece is a ring piston axially-displaceably, but non-rotatably held in a cylinder space formed in one of the respective bucket housings. Pitch of the threads is sufficiently large for the ring piston to transmit required torque to the respective pivot shaft by axial displacement of the ring piston. The displacement path of the ring piston between two annular cylinder chambers corresponding to high and low pressure chambers which can be loaded with hydraulic oil, corresponds to the desired pivot angle of the two arms of the grab bucket.
