    • A latch mechanism for a pallet dispensing machine. A plurality of pallets are positioned in an upright movable frame positioned in a stationary frame in the pallet dispensing machine. The latch mechanism holds the stack of pallets as the movable frame is lowered and sets of the stack on a feeder conveyor. Further downward motion of the movable frame causes the latch mechanism to retract out of engagement by gravity. Thereafter the movable frame moves upwardly and the latch mechanism reengages the remainding pallets above the bottom pallet to lift the stack about an inch so that the feeder conveyor can feed the bottom pallet out of the machine.

    • A pallet repair and inspection system includes pallet destacking apparatus for automatically dispensing pallets from stack of vertical pallets one at a time and discharging the pallets onto an inspection table. The destacking apparatus includes a vertically reciprocating table onto which the stack of pallets is driven and horizontally reciprocating forks which are operated to suspend all but the lowermost pallet as the table is successively lowered and raised between a pallet discharge height and a pallet pick-up height, to discharge the pallets into the inspection table one at a time. The top of the inspection table is foldable to define a cradle for one end of the pallet, orienting the pallet generally vertically, allowing inspection of its top and bottom surfaces.

    • An improved device and method is provided for periodically, singly dispensing a plurality of stacked aligned receptacles and advancing the dispensed receptacles to a filling station. Receptacle contact members are provided for contacting the first, bottommost receptacle of the stacked array of receptacles, lowering the bottommost receptacle and the upstanding stack located thereabove until the first, bottommost receptacle approaches contact with a support or transport bed. The stack is permitted to fall when the first, bottommost receptacle is somewhat above the support bed, falling out of reach of the receptacle contact member. The receptacle contact member then contacts the second receptacle from the bottom and raises it and the stacked receptacles thereabove off of the bottommost first receptacle which is then periodically advanced by a transport bed toward the filling station along the receptacle support bed. The support bed includes guides for maintining a received receptacle in contact therewith as said receptacle is advanced therealong toward the filling station.
