    • A method to make a curved tubular element comprising obtaining a first external curved tubular component, and a second internal curved component made of a material with a greater resistance to wear than the first external curved tubular component, and having a cross section which covers a portion of the internal surface of the first external curved tubular component. The first external curved tubular component includes at least two parts. Each of the parts has a cross section which is a respective portion of the complete tubular section of the first external curved tubular component; to bring the at least two parts near each other along respective connection edges, disposing the second internal curved component internally in contact with at least one of the two parts; to weld the at least two parts to define the first external curved tubular component and to enclose therein the second internal curved component.

    • The invention relates to pipe bend (1) for a pipeline used in the fluidic transport of solids and to a method for producing the pipe bend. The pipe bend (1) includes a double-layer pipe body (2) comprised of an inner pipe bend (3) and an outer pipe bend (4). A coupling collar (6) is fixed to each pipe end (5) of the pipe body (2). The annular gap (8) between the inner pipe bend (3) and the outer pipe bend (4) is filled with concrete as filler (9). The annular space (8) is filled via a fill opening (10) in the wall (11) of the inner pipe bend (3), with the fill opening extending transversely across the wall and arranged on the inner radius IRi of the inner pipe bend (3). Centering aids (12, 13) are hereby introduced into the ends of the pipe body (2), and the inner pipe bend (3) and the outer pipe bend (4) are positioned in relation to one another by the inflation of the centering aids (12, 13). The filling gun (19) of a filling device (20) is then placed against the fill opening (10) in the wall (11) of the inner pipe bend (3), and the annular space (8) is filled with the filler (9).

    • An elbow fitting for use in a pneumatic product conveying system expands from the inlet pipe along the outer side of the elbow fitting and contracts along the outer side of the fitting toward the outlet pipe for guiding product particles into the outlet pipe. The expanded structure of the elbow fitting defines a generally triangularly shaped configuration that provides a wide surface over which an accumulated layer of product particles moves at a lower velocity than the velocity of the incoming product stream. The accumulation layer of product forms a moving contact surface for deflecting incoming product particles toward the outlet pipe with a minimum of pressure resistance and product attrition. The configuration of the expanded elbow fitting provides a slowly moving layer of accumulated product particles due to the law of gravity and Bernoulli's Law.

    • A pipe bend for a pipeline for hydraulically or pneumatically conveying solids includes a middle pipe portion and double-layer coupling flanges welded to the ends of the middle pipe portion. Each coupling flange has an outer layer and an inner wear ring. Each outer layer includes an annular collar, a coupling groove and a pipe connecting piece. The wear ring has an outer section whose wall thickness is greater than the wall thickness of an inner section of the wear ring, wherein the outer section is located relative to the pipe axis facing away from the center of curvature of the middle pipe portion extending between the coupling flanges and the inner section is located facing the center of curvature. In addition, the greater wall thickness of the outer section of the wear ring corresponds to the wall thickness of the end portions of the middle pipe portion.

    • A particle conveying apparatus includes a transfer tube defining a flow passageway between inlet and outlet ends and defining a flow axis and includes a housing adapted for connection with a source of fluid pressure and for directing fluid from the fluid pressure source into the flow passageway between the inlet and outlet ends whereby the directed fluid travels spirally along the flow axis toward the outlet end. The housing defines a generally toroidal chamber surrounding the tube, the tube having an angled flow control slot providing communication between the chamber and the flow passageway, and the pressurized fluid is directed tangentially into the chamber to cause the fluid to enter the flow passageway through the slot in a spiraling direction toward the outlet end.
