    • A conveyor for the transport of bulk materials contains three pairs of supporting cables disposed vertically one above the other. A conveyor belt is movable along the supporting cables from a loading station to an unloading station. The conveyor belt has supporting beams disposed at a distance apart and at the ends of which are rollers, which roll along the middle and lower supporting cables. The conveyor further contains supporting frames by which the supporting cables are mutually connected. The supporting frames have two vertically aligned supporting struts and two horizontally aligned connecting struts. Furthermore, the upper ends of the supporting struts are respectively connected to one of the two upper supporting cables and the connecting struts are connected to the middle and the lower supporting cables. The supporting struts are formed by two supporting strut parts, which are mutually pivotable about horizontal axes aligned transversely to the supporting cables.

    • A conveying installation for transporting goods has a conveyor belt that is guided over deflecting drums at the two ends of the installation and which is formed with a pair of first supporting cables that are borne by supports that are strategically placed in the installation and on which there are fastened supports for a pair of second supporting cables and for a pair of third supporting cables. The conveyor belt has supporting bars with supporting rollers mounted at each end. The supporting rollers of the forward strand of the conveyor belt roll along the second supporting cables and the supporting rollers of the return strand roll along the third supporting cables. There are provided first supporting frames, which bear the second supporting cables such that they run along catenary curves between the supports, and second supporting frames, which bear the third supporting cables such that they run more or less rectilinearly over the course of the installation.

    • A conveying installation for the transport of goods has an endless conveyor belt that is guided at the two ends of the installation by deflection drums. The belt is fastened to the underside of carrying beams which are oriented transversely with respect to the direction of movement of the conveyor belt and are located at a distance from one another in the direction of movement of the conveyor belt. Running rollers are mounted in each case on the two lateral ends of the carrying beams. The running rollers roll on two pairs, provided along the installation, of carrying ropes or carrying rails which are assigned to the forward strand and to the return strand of the conveyor belt. At least in the case of some of the carrying beams, a sealing strip consisting of an elastic material is provided between the underside of the carrying beams and the topside of the conveyor belt.

    • An aerial conveyor system comprises a pair of spaced apart cables extending from a first vehicle including material delivery apparatus across a material receiving zone, across an open area, and across a material discharge zone to a second vehicle. The cables support a conveyor support frame comprising a pair of elongate members extending substantially parallel to the cables, a plurality of transversely disposed conveyor support rollers, and structure for suspending the elongate members from the cables. An endless conveyor belt is mounted for movement around a course defined by the conveyor support rollers of the conveyor support frame and functions to transport material received from the delivery apparatus of the first vehicle in the receiving zone across the open area to the discharge zone. An axially outwardly directed force is applied to the ends of the conveyor system to suspend the system from the receiving zone to the discharge zone. Structure is provided for varying the tension on the conveyor belt in relation to the loading on the belt. In the use of the aerial conveyor system, overburden is preferably removed in accordance with a series of vertically stacked zones. The aerial conveyor system is then employed to discharge the excavated material into a previously mined portion of the excavation in accordance with the same vertical sequence. By this means the original vertical configuration of the excavation is restored, thereby facilitating return of the mined area to productive usage.
