According to one embodiment, a fiberboard bulk materials container includes a plurality of fiberboard sidewalls forming a storage cavity and having a compression strength of 4 to 5 times the combined weight of cartons expected to be stacked above the bulk materials container, and a moisture-resistant polymer film wrapped around the outside of the sidewalls. The polymer film may substantially cover the sidewalls and extend from the top of the container to the bottom of the container along the sidewalls. A method for forming the bulk materials container includes stretch-wrapping the polymer film around the container sidewalls.

摘要： A container for holding fluent material comprises a bag of flexible sheet material defining a volume for containing a load of the material. The bag has a side wall with an inside face and an outside face, and a bottom margin defining an open lower end of the bag. The container further comprises a substantially rigid, non-circular base for supporting the bag. Channels are formed in the base and extend at least partially around the base. The bag is fitted on the base with the bottom margin of the bag extending down on the outside of the base and with a portion of the bottom margin received in the channels of the base. Locking strips are positioned in the channels to overlie the portion of the bottom margin of the bag received therein. The container further comprises a clamping mechanism securable to the base for applying pressure to the locking strips to press the portion of the bottom margin of the bag against one or more surfaces of the channels thereby to sealingly secure the bag to the base.

摘要： A stackable portable container assembly for storing fluid having a pallet base and a tank having top, middle and bottom portions. The top portion can be integral with the tank or removable from the middle portion. A plurality of cables removably secure the tank to the pallet base. The bottom portion and an upper surface of the pallet base comprise cooperating male and female receptacles which are adopted to cooperate with each other when the tank is mounted to the pallet base. The bottom portion further comprises at least one drain. A drain valve coupled to the drain of the tank to enable the fluid stored in the tank to be removed at a predetermined rate. A lever-operated drain stopper is optionally disposed in the tank to prevent the fluid from flowing through the drain opening. The top portion comprises projections which cooperate with the pallet base of a second portable container assembly to enable the second portable container assembly to be securely stacked on top of the portable container assembly and the pallet base further comprises openings adopted to cooperate with projections on a top portion of the second portable container assembly to enable the portable container assembly to be mounted on top of the second portable container assembly.

摘要： A fluid tank assembly is designed for stacking with similar assemblies. The fluid tank assembly includes a base having a plurality of upright stacking legs, a tank having a liquid-receiving chamber received on and supported by the base, and couplers for connecting the tank to the stacking legs adjacent the upper ends of the latter. The couplers away be provided as fasteners such as bolts and receivers whereby the tank prevents the legs from spreading outwardly. Alternatively, the couplers may be provided as bosses molded into the tank which interfit with corresponding slots on the stacking legs. The tank is preferably permitted to shift relative to the base to accommodate movement during filling and emptying and shifting during transport. The couplers avoid the necessity of separate protective tops or other structure which joins the tops of the legs together, but rather uses the tank as a structural component without imparting significant vertical loads thereto.
