摘要： A light weight hinged top (top) is described to be used as a container top. This particular model provides ease of use and requires significantly less material for manufacturing. A novel way of connecting the top and the container is using a fork spring which has three fingers like structures. The two outer structures are smaller than the middle one. The fork spring due to its resiliency brings the container top back to closing position thus providing self closing and self reseal ability for the top. A guide member also helps to position the top when it opens and closes. The top can be made using metal, biodegradable materials or any flexible material. The top can be used for cans or bottles.

摘要： An easy-open container component comprising an end closure having an aperture therein and a reclosable two-position pull-tab having a downwardly depending plug member whose sidewall is larger at its top than at the bottom, and whose bottom surface initially is planar with, and is adhered to a sealing membrane in turn adhered to, the underside of the central panel of the end closure. Opening of the end closure is effected by pulling upwardly on the pull-tab to pull the plug member out of the aperture and to cut the sealing membrane about the edge of the rim of the aperture. Reclosure is effected by pressuredly inserting the plug member downwardly into the aperture so that the edge of the rim of the aperture pressuredly sealingly engages the larger top portion of the plug member sidewall, and so that the bottom surface of the plug member is below the plane of the underside of the central panel of the end closure.

In an alternate form of the invention, the container itself is depressed inwardly for causing the increased pressure sufficient to cut the frangible member away from the end. Various opening geometries are each formed with a cutting edge.

The ring has an inward extending seating flange closure disc which is sealed to the flange during shipment and separated therefrom when the container is first opened. The closure disc also is provided with a peripheral ring of pressure sensitive adhesive suitable for holding the closure disc in position to seal the container after it is first opened. The closure disc may be formed from a plurality of laminae, the top lamina being arranged to provide a pull tab foldable out the plane thereof. The bottom lamina may be of metal to give proper stiffness to the closure disc.

A simple design and economical manufacture can be achieved by providing that a screw cap (5) of the sealing element (3) rests against the second projection (8) in the closed state.
