摘要： An aircraft includes a thermal management system that is configured to cool portions of the aircraft. The thermal management system includes at least one reverse air cycle machine (RACM) mounted on an engine of the aircraft, and a vapor cycle system (VCS) that is configured to cool the portions of the aircraft. The VCS circulates a refrigerant therethrough. A condenser couples the RACM(s) to the VCS. The RACM(s) coupled to the condenser provides a heat sink for the VCS.

摘要： An aircraft air conditioning system includes an ambient air line connected to an aircraft air conditioning system mixer to supply ambient air, and a cabin exhaust air line connectable to an aircraft cabin, and a bleed air line drawn off from an engine or auxiliary power unit. An ambient air compressor in the ambient air line compresses ambient air. A refrigerating apparatus includes a refrigerant circuit and a refrigerant compressor. The refrigerant circuit is thermally coupled to the air line to transfer heat from air line air to refrigerant circulating in the refrigerant circuit before the air is supplied to the mixer. A turbine is coupled to the air compressor. A control device controls the aircraft air conditioning system wherein in a first operating state the turbine receives air from the air line, and in a second operating state receives a mixture of bleed air and cabin exhaust air.

摘要： A power electronics cooling system includes a ram air fan with one or more blades and a ram air fan motor connected via an output shaft. The ram air fan draws in air and passes it across a heat exchanger to cool one or more cooling liquids. One or more pumps pressurize and pump the cooling liquids to various electronic components, including one or more motor controllers. The pumps may be mechanically or electrically coupled to the output shaft of the ram air fan, such that the motor of the ram air fan provides energy to the pumps.

The exhaust system includes a galley having a chiller that includes an inlet, a condenser fan inlet, a condenser fan outlet proximate to chiller inlet, and a first flow of air through the condenser, an air ventilation outlet conduit that includes a second flow of air therethrough, and an ejector pump. The ejector pump includes a first airflow inlet, a second airflow inlet and an airflow outlet, wherein the first airflow inlet is coupled in flow communication with the condenser fan outlet, the second inlet is coupled in flow communication with the air ventilation outlet conduit. As the second airflow increases, the first velocity increases in a direction away from the galley chiller facilitating a decrease in temperature at the condenser fan inlet.

摘要： A system and method of altering the air conditioning system in an aircraft so that the air conditioning system is electrically powered rather than engine powered. The aircraft is rid of the air conditioning components that are dedicated to the engine powered system. A new electric compressor, evaporator and condenser blower assembly are then installed. Heat exchanger units are installed in the areas of the aircraft that are to be cooled. The new air conditioning system has two circulatory loops. In a refrigerant loop, refrigerant is circulated between the electric compressor, evaporator and condenser. This cools the evaporator. The evaporator is then used to cool circulating liquid coolant. The coolant is circulated to the heat exchange units.

摘要： An aircraft environmental control system (ECS) may be configured to operate in first mode and a second mode. The ECS may include an air cycle machine (ACM), a by-pass valve positioned to allow bleed air to by-pass the air cycle machine so that when the by-pass valve is open, the ECS operates in the first mode with bleed air at a first pressure and when the by-pass valve is closed the ECS operates in the second mode at a second bleed air pressure, higher than the first bleed air pressure. A bleed air system controller and ECS controller may be configured to selectively couple high pressure or low pressure bleed air ports of an engine of an aircraft to the ECS and control the by-pass valve position.
