    • A raft comprises a core comprising a buoyant material. The core has a generally flat deck surface, a generally flat hull surface, and a height defining a bow surface, a stern surface, a starboard surface and a port surface. The deck surface and the hull surface have substantially equal widths. The deck surface further has a length being greater than a length of the hull surface in which a difference of the length of the deck surface and the length of the hull surface determines a curvature of the bow surface and a curvature of the stern surface. A coating is applied to the core in which the coating encapsulates the core, and is operable for mitigating damage to the core and entry of water into the core.

    • The present invention utilizes the resilient force (i.e. the force to deform when pressure is added and to return to the original shape when the pressure is removed) of an elastic member or bias member. A large pressure if added in advance to the elastic member or bias member disposed in a preserver body to set the preserver body in a thin and flat state. In an emergency, the resilient force of the elastic member or bias member causes water or air to be sucked into the preserver body. The volume of the preserver body is expanded by the air sucked in due to the resilient force of the elastic member or bias member or by gas generated by a chemical reaction between the sucked-in water and a foaming agent. The increased volume causes the preserver body to float, thereby enabling a wearer to breathe.

    • A lightweight watercraft device designed for use by general consumers and those without means or desire for a traditional, larger boat. The device comprises a pilot seat, an outboard electric motor and steering means mounted to a lightweight foam hull wrapped in a composite shell. The hull comprises a central region bounded by two forward sweeping sides that form the bow of the vessel. The sides taper from bow to stern, terminating at the rear of the boat in a squared configuration. The hull is a unitary foam structure, wrapped in plys of composite material for structural reinforcement. A plank board is bonded between plys along the central axis of the boat, and provides support for the seat, a rear transom board and an area for carrying supplies. Mounted on the transom board is the outboard electric motor, which provides motive power for the vessel.
