摘要： A lift-assisted rack mountable to a roof of a vehicle and pivotable between a transport configuration and a loading configuration. The lift-assisted rack comprises: a fixed base mounted to the roof of the vehicle, a set of pivoting links, an article support, a pivoting arm and a lift-assisting strut. The set of pivoting links are pivotally connected to the fixed base at a link proximal end thereof. The article support is pivotally connected to the set of pivoting links, at a link distal end thereof. The pivoting arm is pivotally connected to the fixed base at an arm proximal end and is pivotable of a predetermined angular. The lift-assisting strut is pivotally connected to one link of the set of pivoting links at a strut distal end and is pivotally connected to the arm distal end of the pivoting arm, at a strut proximal end thereof.

摘要： An apparatus for loading a wheelchair or similar object into a vehicle. When in a stored position, the apparatus and wheelchair are fully contained within said vehicle. A first embodiment illustrates use of the apparatus in a rear compartment of a station wagon, van or similar vehicle in which a pair of motor-driven drive links and a pair of drag links are utilized to lift and rotate a chair rack and wheelchair mounted thereon into said vehicle rear compartment. The drive and drag links connect the rack to a carriage which may then be rolled from a rearwardmost to a forwardmost position for final storage of the apparatus and chair in the vehicle. Latching means is provided to latch the carriage in either its forwardmost or rearwardmost positions. A remote control switch and limit switches are used to control power to the electric motor. A second embodiment of the apparatus is designed for use in the trunk of a typical passenger automobile. In this configuration, the chassis has an upper section defining tracks in which a carriage may roll and a lower section attached to the lower surface of the vehicle trunk. Collapsible support means is provided between the upper and lower sections such that the upper section may be lowered toward the lower section during a loading cycle. Crank and lever means are utilized so that, as the chair is lifted and rotated into the rear compartment, the carriage will be rolled from its rearwardmost to its forwardmost position concurrently with the lowering of the upper section. A latch is provided to prevent undesired movement of the carriage when in its rearwardmost loading or unloading position.

The storage device includes a horizontal and vertical arm, that when activated by a motor, uses a series of motors and gears to move a wheelchair attached to the vertical arm to the rear of the vehicle. A storage platform is further provided that receives and secures the wheelchair behind the vehicle. The motors of the storage device may be powered by the vehicle's engine, and a remote may be provided for user control.

摘要： A carrier for transporting a snowmobile on top of an automobile includes a support deck which is mounted on a slant generally over the trunk of the automobile and is supported pivotally at its front end by a bracket attached to the rain gutters. The back end of the deck rests over the trunk and upon an upstanding support attached to the rear bumper. A loading boom is mounted on the support to pivot between pickup and load positions by means of an actuator and includes a sling for carrying the snowmobile up onto the deck as the boom is pivoted from the pickup position to the load position. A lifter also mounted pivotally on the support is positioned to engage the underside of the deck and is operable to raise the latter into a substantially level position in order to gain access to the trunk.
