    • An ABS/ESC activated brake light device includes a first connector, a second connector, an antilock brake system and/or electronic stability control (ABS/ESC) signal detection circuit connected to the first connector, a control circuit connected to the ABS/ESC signal detection circuit, a brake light signal generation circuit connected to the control circuit and the second connector, and a power supply. The first connector is configured to plug into an antilock brake system pump motor circuit on a fuse panel of a vehicle. The second connector is configured to plug into a brake light circuit on the fuse panel of the vehicle. The control circuit sends one or more control signals to the brake light generation circuit whenever an ABS/ESC signal is detected. The brake light signal generation circuit causes the brake lights of the vehicle to flash whenever the one or more control signals are received from the control circuit.

    • A speed reduction warning system that senses vehicle deceleration rate and upon reaching preset limits flashes an illumination device at different rates signaling the operator following the vehicle to the rate of deceleration. The system generally includes a processing unit, an input to the processor that senses deceleration or acceleration rate from the odometer of the vehicle, and an output illumination device. The illumination device includes an indicator that flashes at varying rates controlled by the processor. The processor includes storage having a plurality of ranges stored that are the deceleration rates that the system responds to. In application, with the vehicle in motion, the deceleration or acceleration rate of the vehicle is detected by the input device and supplied to the processor. A value is calculated by the processor representing whether the vehicle is decelerating and if so, the rate of deceleration. If the value is within one of the ranges in storage, the processor sends a corresponding output signal to the illumination device. Once the vehicle is stopped or begins to accelerate the output signal is extinguished by the processor, automatically. The system can further include means such that the indicator of the illumination device activates a selected illumination when the vehicle's anti-lock brake system is applied, or a steady illumination when the vehicle's speed is below 5 mph.

    • A vehicle includes a main lighting control sensor, a body, a housing, an outer lens, and main and expressive lighting assemblies. The sensor generates an output signal in response to a detected vehicle condition such as braking or headlight activation. The lens defines a cavity in conjunction with the housing. The main lighting assembly is positioned within the cavity, and illuminates in response to the output signal. An expressive lighting assembly positioned within the cavity includes clear transparent plates arranged in a stack, with LEDs arranged in multiple rows and columns on a major surface of each plate. Wire arrays connect the LEDs to a control board. The control board receives an activation signal from a device, e.g., a fob, and individually addresses the LEDs to command illumination of the LEDs according to a calibrated LED illumination sequence. A controller may be used for downloading sequences as applications.

    • A progressive braking indicator system includes a brake light assembly having multiple lights, a brake pedal for the vehicle, a sensor connected to the brake pedal for measuring a distance the brake pedal has moved and an amount of pressure applied to the brake pedal by a driver of the vehicle, and a brake control processor connected to the sensor and the at least one brake light assembly. The brake control processor is configured to: a) receive the distance and amount of pressure measured by the sensor, b) generate a signal based on the distance and amount of pressure measured by the sensor, wherein the signal is configured to illuminate a varying subset of the plurality of lights based on the distance and amount of pressure measured by the sensor. A power source connected to the at least one brake light assembly, the sensor, and the brake control processor.

    • A device for controlling the brake lights in a motor vehicle having a brake system, designed to be operated by outside forces, is described. The device includes a control device for actuating the brakes of the vehicle in such a manner that an automatic braking operation can be carried out as a function of the vehicle operating conditions, and at least one brake lamp which can be actuated by the control device or by a separate control unit.
