摘要： A tire that can attach and detach and that can prevent splash when running a wet road and cool discharging a heat is provided. The tire having a tread and a shoulder portion connected to the tread includes a protector portion provided in a circumferential direction at a side surface of the shoulder portion and in which a plurality of penetration portions are formed at a predetermined gap in a length direction; a plurality of protruding portions provided in the protector portion and formed at a predetermined gap in a length direction of the protector portion; and a plurality of installation grooves formed at a side surface of the shoulder portion such that the protruding portion attaches or detaches when the protruding portion enters or discharges.

摘要： A pneumatic tire manufacturing method is provided in which raw cover molding is suitably performed with no, or a minimal amount of, down-stitching in the manufacture of SOT-structure pneumatic tires; also provided is a pneumatic tire. This pneumatic tire manufacturing method involves: a step in which a sidewall, an inner liner, and a ply are bonded on a first molding drum, a pair of beads is set, and the tread side part is formed on the side wall, forming a first cover; a step in which a breaker and band are bonded on a second molding drum and the tread center part is formed on the band, shaping the tread ring; a step in which the first cover is inserted inside of the tread ring and the first cover is inflated, bonding the tread ring and the first cover with pressure; and a step in which the sidewall is folded back towards the lateral surface of the inflated first cover and bonded to the lateral surface of the first cover, and the tread side part and the tread center part are bonded together.

The tread portion of the pneumatic tire extends between both tread ends and has a tread surface with lug grooves. Each lug groove extends in a tire width direction and has an opening at its one end to a buttress that extends from the tread end radially inwards of the tire. The buttress has a surface with a projection on one side, in a tire circumferential direction, of the buttress-side opening of the lug groove to protrude in the tire width direction. The projection has a radially outer end in a radially outer side than a radially inner end of the buttress-side opening of the lug groove.
