A positioning platform, together with a pressure member which acts against the platform, define a transfer station at which the roll leaf and product are concurrently aligned. A continuously moving and guided thermal belt preheats the foil sufficiently to effect separation of the roll leaf decorative layer from the carrier, and assure its transfer to the product surface.

摘要： Apparatus for printing a succession of individual inscriptions on a continuous strip of textile material by intermittently advancing the tape longitudinally through a plurality of printing stations, with a discrete portion of the inscription being printed at each station. Raised type face carried by printing units mounted side by side on a common, reciprocating carriage is pressed into contact with a printing ribbon coated with a material transferable from the ribbon to the textile material. A separate, continuous printing ribbon is provided for each printing unit, a carriage separate from but movable with the printing unit carriage being provided to establish a path for the ribbons passing between the printing units and the textile strip. A single motor drives cams which move the carriages, advance and index the strip, and advance each ribbon to present an unused portion for print transfer at each printing cycle. Resilient springs are provided on the ribbon carriage to hold the textile strip in position as the ribbon is pulled away after each contact, and a unique motion transfer mechanism is provided for automatically advancing the ribbon, allowing selective adjustment of the distance of ribbon travel for each cycle. A circular printing unit comprising a plurality of independently rotatable disks for changing the characters of the inscription without preparing separate dies or setting new type is also disclosed.

A timing assembly coordinates the rotation of a cam shaft with the actuation and deactuation of clutch and brake assemblies within a metering roll. An optical scanner trained on the web registers a predetermined contrast location to actuate the brake and deactuate the clutch, subject to the presence of an enabling signal from the timing assembly. The metering roll, in combination with a reciprocating label shuttle, provides intermittent web motion to achieve controlled label advance.

摘要： In apparatus for transferring a printing medium from a printing ribbon to an underlying material by moving the ribbon into contact with the material and moving raised type face into printing contact with the ribbon, resilient means are provided on the movable portion of the apparatus to hold down the material as the ribbon is pulled away after printing, thus preventing the ribbon and material from sticking together. The material to be printed extends on each side of the ribbon during printing contact and the resilient means, in the form of a pair of flexible spring elements, extend from the portion of the apparatus on which the ribbon and type face are mounted to contact the material prior to contact of the ribbon. As the apparatus is moved to lift the ribbon from the material, the springs remain in contact with the material, holding the latter against movement with the ribbon.

The use of high resolution and high speed sensors (135, 160, 162, 164, 166, 168) provides continuous precise data to the regulating device which results in the continuous correction in the corresponding position of stamping punch/es (137) and stamping foil (116) to match the locations on substrate (110). This provides accurate registered transfer of prints, latent images or Fresnel lenses on the substrate (110) with efficient utilization of stamping foil (116).
