摘要： A liquid absorbent applicator for applying a liquid to the copy sheets of a duplicating machine, is maintained at a constant moisture content. Two sensing electrodes engage the applicator and are connected with control means for a motor driving a supply means for the liquid, such as a pump or liquid elevator roller. When high resistance between the electrodes, and consequently low current between the same, indicates that the applicator is too dry, the control means actuate the electric motor which drives the pump or elevator roller to increase the moisture content of the applicator to a desired constant value. When the moisture content is too high, the control means respond to the sensing means to stop the motor and the supply of moistening liquid.

摘要： A transfer-printing process and apparatus for transfer-printing from a master card onto a work piece. The process starts by manual insertion of the master card into a gap provided between press rollers. By the insertion of the master card, the work piece is fed into a work piece path and the surface thereof is wetted during its movement along the path. The work piece thus fed and the master card sustained between the gap are registered with each other as desired and pressed for transfer-printing by the rotation of the press rollers. The work piece and the master card are then delivered to the insertion inlet of the master card.

摘要： An improved pattern duplicating machine for transferring a printed pattern from a moving master sheet to a moving copy sheet by a pair of counter-rotating rolls mounted in yieldable pressure engagement with one another so as to form a nip therebetween, in which the master and copy sheets are guided into engagement on the surface of one of the rotating rolls prior to entry of the sheets into the nip formed between the pair of rolls. One of the rolls serves as a drive roll and engages the copy sheet over a major portion of its surface, the copy sheet being moistened with an even coating of activating fluid just prior to its engagement with the drive roll.
