摘要： A rotatable, free standing copy holder with a relatively narrow base structure upon which is mounted a cylindrical drum to which sheets of standard office size paper containing written or printed information may be clamped at the top margin. The configuration of the base permits the lower portion of the sheet of copy to be tucked in a loose roll into the open space in the base under the drum. To scan the sheet of copy for further processing, the drum is manually rotated clockwise by means of thumb wheels attached to each end of the drum. When the drum is being rotated, the sheet of copy passes under a window that is cut into the base wall while it is progressively being rolled up on the drum. This allows the copy to be seen and processed a few lines at a time and blocks out the copy that has already passed across the window as well as the copy still to be rotated past it. This feature offers a distinct advantage to the user because it obviates most of the possible repetitive distraction that whole sheets of copy viewed on flat panel copy holders can induce in their users. Because it is relatively low in height, free standing and more compact than flat panel and rotatable prior art copy holders, the disclosed copy holder can more often be placed in the work area conveniently close to the user. When used in conjunction with a computer it may in many situations be placed between the computer keyboard and the computer proper. This is a preferred location because it places the copy in the direct line of sight of the user resulting in less head swivelling and faster work progress.

摘要： A document support monitor stand for removably mounting a document holder includes a monitor fitted with a pair of receiving mortises. The mortises are located at the the front side of the monitor, vertically aligned at opposite sides of the display screen, with each having its entry opening disposed in a forward facing direction and having a series of cooperating niches for securing the document holder. A document holder includes a copyholder, a dual ball and socket assembly, and an engageable support arm for mounting and securing the document holder on the document support monitor. The support arm includes an engagement portion having, securing, niche-engageable, springboards, which is slidably received by either one of the receiving mortises by means of the mortise's entry opening so that the document holder may be frictionally secured to the monitor. The stand allows the copyholder to be extended, and retracted, and to also be adjusted laterally, vertically and universally with respect to its rotational position.

The described embodiments include an attaching structure, such as a clamp which grips the exterior housing of the display. Other embodiments of the invention may include structures which only rest upon the exterior housing of the display. A document platen adapted for holding documents is secured to the attached structure so that the document platen is held above the work surface transversely adjacent to the display. Some embodiments of the invention may also include structures which allow documents to be held on the left, right, or both sides of the display. Further embodiments of the invention may include structures allowing the apparatus to be used with displays of varying size as well as structures to adjust the position and orientation of the document being held by the apparatus.
