摘要： A method of manufacturing a glass assembly to have an opaque boundary feature includes a step of forming a first glass substrate that is curved, with the first glass substrate having an outer surface (P1) and an opposing inner surface (P2), and a second glass substrate that is curved, with the second glass substrate having an inner surface (P3) and an opposing outer surface (P4). The method also includes a step of digitally-applying an organic ink without a mask on at least one of the P2 surface and the P3 surface. The method further includes curing the organic ink to form the opaque boundary feature on at least one of the P2 surface and the P3 surface. The method also further includes disposing a polymeric interlayer between the P2 surface and the P3 surface.

摘要： A laminated vehicle glazing is disclosed, the glazing comprising a first glass ply coated with an electrically conductive coating, a second glass ply, an interlayer ply comprising polyvinyl butyral, and a first busbar comprising a conductive foil, wherein the electrically conductive coating comprises a pyrolytically deposited transparent conductive oxide layer and in that the first busbar is in direct contact with both the electrically conductive coating and the interlayer ply. Preferably the pyrolytically deposited transparent oxide layer comprises doped tin oxide and is the outermost layer of the electrically conductive coating. Also disclosed are a vehicle windshield and a train having a power supply at 25 V to 250 V, comprising a laminated vehicle glazing. A method for manufacturing a laminated vehicle glazing is also disclosed.

摘要： A laminated glazing is described comprising a first pane of glazing material having a first major surface and an opposing second major surface, there being an obscuration band on the second major surface extending around a portion of the periphery of the first pane such that the second major surface is not smooth. A first adhesive layer having a thickness of between 6 μm and 100 μm contacts a portion of the second major surface of the first pane of glazing material and a portion of the obscuration band. The laminated glazing also has a carrier ply carrying an infra red reflecting coating wherein the first adhesive layer is between the first pane of glazing material and the carrier ply.

An opaque paint that is not technically a frit is used to form a desired opaque pattern. The paint is screen printed on a substrate. Screen printing parameters are selected, e.g., so that the mesh has a high threads per inch count; the paint is pushed through the screen using hydraulic forces that account for a sheer thinning property of the paint by balancing squeegee speed, squeegee angle relative to the screen, and hardness of the squeegee; and/or relative humidity above and/or near the screen is at least about 80%. Preferably, the paint is substantially fully curable at 400 degrees C. or less. The substrate with the pattern thereon may be bent using a high temperature process, optionally with another substrate to which it may be laminated.
