摘要： The present invention relates to a mandrel for use in manufacturing a container in which the mandrel includes a mandrel body in the shape of a cylinder, recessed portions located about the circumference of the mandrel body forming it into a polygon with inwardly depressed sides forming curved surfaces thereabout, and connecting portions separating the recessed portions and located substantially at the cylindrical outer surface of the mandrel, as well as a central channel in the mandrel and apertures located within the recessed portions and connecting them with the central channel so that a vacuum can be applied through the apertures to conform a container body placed on the outer surface of the mandrel to the shape of the mandrel.

摘要： A method for manufacturing a container for filling with juice or the like at a high temperature includes applying a container body to a mandrel having an outer surface corresponding to the shape of a cylinder and a plurality of recessed portions located about the circumference of the mandrel. The recessed portions are inwardly recessed from the substantially cylindrical outer surface and are separated by a plurality of connecting portions corresponding substantially to the cylindrical outer surface. The container body is subjected to vacuum attraction through a plurality of apertures provided in the mandrel whereby the container body is drawn into the plurality of recessed portions to conform the shape of the container body to the shape of the mandrel. The container is thereafter disengaged from the mandrel by feeding compressed air through the plurality of apertures of the mandrel.

摘要： A simple apparatus for forming a fill line in a paper beverage container such as a paper cup is disclosed. The apparatus includes no moving parts. A fill line is formed by forcing a punch of a mating ring into a finished cup positioned in a die which includes an annular recess spaced below the rim of the finished cup, the annular recess terminating in a bottom edge which serves as an anvil surface for forming the fill line. The fill line provides a user of the beverage container with a reference point for establishing a consistent measure of volume. The advantage is a simple apparatus adapted to be fitted to most paper cup finishing machines. The apparatus has no moving parts and is therefore not prone to requiring maintenance or replacement.

摘要： The invention relates to the field of combustible ammunition and relates chiefly to the manufacture of bottoms or covers for combustible cases.According to the invention, a combustible article is manufactured by pressing in a die 10 at least one sheet 21 of combustible paper containing nitrocellulose and having the shape of a disc, by virtue of a rigid movable punch 20 exerting a compressive force on a deformable flexible punch 22 arranged inside the said die 10 between the sheets 21 and the said movable punch 20. The flexible punch 22 is in the shape of a substantially cylindrical thick disc, consists of neoprene or a silicone resin and has a hardness of between 55 and 65 Shore at 20.degree. C. The pressing operation is accompanied by a thermoforming operation carried out at approximately 115.degree. C.The process is particularly suitable for the production of bottoms of combustible cases bearing studs or grooves on their side faces.
