One or more of the hold down elements can be utilized on an interior wall, and the hold down elements are oriented so as to extend longitudinally in an unloading direction, such that a cotton module will slide therealong without being held in the chamber by the hold down element.

In addition, retaining claws for the material already compressed in the lower shaft portion or the finished bale which has not yet been tied are pivotally mounted in openings of the rear wall and the front door of the pressing area of the shaft.

摘要： A vertical baler has a generally rectangular compacting chamber defined by vertical wall members extending from a base, and the chamber is closed by pivotal front doors and a vertically retractable safety gate. A vertically movable horizontal platen is suspended within the chamber by a hydraulic cylinder, and batches of scrap material compacted within the chamber are held down by dog members some of which are pivotally supported. A set of flexible bale ejecting members are coupled to the pivotal dog members and bias the dog members inwardly into the chamber when compacting material, and the ejecting members are then coupled to the platen to provide for ejecting a tied bale in response to upward retraction of the platen.

摘要： An apparatus for baling staple fibers, wherein the fibers are held up in a chute above a bale press box while a tamper compresses layers of fiber already in the box. When the tamper is raised, staple fibers drop from the chute and are subjected to horizontally directed fluid forces which distribute the added fibers in a uniform layer in the box. The resulting bales have relatively uniform dimensions, even density throughout and increased overall weight.
