摘要： A fusion machine which can be top-loaded on very large polyolefin pipes and pipelines has jaws which consist of an upper half jaw and lower left and right complemental jaws which pivot on the half jaw. Left and right actuators connected between the complemental jaws and the half jaw operate in one direction to cause the complemental jaws to rotate to an opened condition in which the upper half jaw can be lowered onto and lifted from the pipes to be fused and in the other direction to cause the complemental jaws to rotate to a closed condition in which the pipes to be fused are gripped so substantially around their circumferences as to resist their deformation from round during manipulation by the machine. The top-loading machine minimizes the need for heavy equipment to load and unload pipe to and from the fusion machine.

摘要： A method and apparatus are provided for installing types of broadcast fumigation film, such as LDPE, HDPE, TIF and VIF, over a field treated with a fumigant. An elongate first film strip is extended across the field, with simultaneous fumigant injection under the film and a melted hot glue adhesive is applied to the first strip along a trailing longitudinal edge thereof. An elongate second film strip is applied across the field and juxtaposed across the first film strip with a leading longitudinal edge of the second film strip overlapping the trailing longitudinal edge of the first strip. The leading longitudinal edge of the second strip is pressed against trailing longitudinal edge of the first strip to adhesively interengage the first and second strips along a seam that joins the strips together.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for connecting material webs disposed with overlapping edges, wherein an automatic welding machine having a driven chassis and a drive unit disposed thereon and a welding unit is guided along the overlap zone of the material webs to be connected, such that the carried welding unit connects the edges to be connected to one another. The invention further relates to an automatic welding machine for performing the method. The invention proposes that a temporary guide marking moving along with the chassis be generated along the edge of the overlapping material web by means of a marking unit disposed on the chassis, said guide marking always extending parallel to the edge and prescribing the path of the automatic welding machine on the overlapping material web and that the guide marking be detected by means of a sensor device during the movement of the automatic welding machine, wherein a control signal is generated for a display unit and/or the drive unit and the chassis is movable along the guide marking by means of the control signal.

摘要： An apparatus for seaming roofing membranes to one another, wherein one of the membranes is secured to an underlying support structure by at least one protruding fastener is provided. The apparatus includes a wheeled carriage having an upwardly extending push/pull bar. A power supply propels the wheeled carriage and energizes a heating assembly that generates a heated airflow sufficient to fuse the roofing membranes to one another. A nozzle is coupled to the heating assembly for directing the heated airflow between the two membranes. A variable pressure roller assembly is coupled to the carriage and has a single durometer material carried by an axle that may have different diameter sections. The roller passes over the at least one protruding fastener while still applying a uniform pressure so as to form a substantially continuous width seam except where interrupted by the protruding fastener.

The apparatus includes a movably supported chassis, a welder attached to the chassis for heating the top membrane to at least the vicant softening point to weld the overlapping second membrane and the first membrane, and at least one weld wheel rotatably attached to the chassis and located rearward of the nozzle relative to the direction of movement of the apparatus, the weld wheel including a marker having an indicia thereon that is transferred to a top surface of the second membrane only where the first membrane and the second membrane have undergone a phase change during heating.
