摘要： A technique facilitates formation of a burnished region, e.g. a seal region, via plastic deformation of an internal surface. The technique utilizes a burnishing assembly which may comprise a stem sized for insertion into a tubular region. The stem may be combined with an actuator and a plurality of rolling elements mounted on the actuator. When the actuator is actuated to a radially outward position, the plurality of rolling elements may be moved into engagement with the internal surface until plastic deformation occurs. The stem may then the rotated to force the plurality of rolling elements along the internal surface so as to form a region of plastic deformation. The plastic deformation may be located to form a seal, for example, between adjacent components.

摘要： Disclosed is a rolling tool which serves for working—in particular rolling smooth—an inner lateral surface of a cylindrical clearance. For this purpose, the rolling tool has at least one rolling body, which is held in the rotatably drivable rolling tool, and can be taken along by said tool on a peripheral path along the inner lateral surface. The at least one rolling body is inserted into a radial clearance in the rolling tool and can be subjected to a pressurized fluid from the inside to the outside along the radial clearance. The fluid is an aerosol. The aerosol is a fluid mixed with gas and serves for hydrostatic bearing and lubrication.

The mandrel and the compressing coil spring, which functions from the shank portion side to the frame side are provided in the shank portion as well as the adjustable ring, which allows adjustment of tool diameter by moving the position of the mandrel in an axial direction relative to the frame.

The machining for formation of the recesses and the working for plastic deformation for narrowing the opening are combined together so that the bore surface is machined to have oil reservoir recesses each of which is narrow at its opening and broad at its inner part.

摘要： A skiving tool having a retractable knife for use in combination with a roller burnishing tool for finishing the internal surface of a cylindrical hole. The retractable knife includes a pair of radially extendible knife holders defining a camming path having an axial portion and an angled portion. A push dart has a camming element with complementary camming surfaces which rides along the camming path. Axial actuation of the push dart causes the knife holders to extend radially into a stable, locked position. The roller burnishing tool includes a roller race having a central axis and a frustoconical outer surface tapering radially outward and axially forward. A plurality of frustoconically tapered rollers are arranged about the outer surface for rolling engagement with the outer surface with the smaller ends of the rollers facing forward. The taper of the rollers is such that the outermost surface portion of each roller is parallel to the central axis. The rollers are biased in the forward direction with a chosen force so that the force exerted on the internal surface of the hole remains constant over a range of sizes of the hole.

摘要： A device for smoothing the inner surface surrounding a bore has a core which can be rotated about an axis and a ring which surrounds the core and is fast therewith. The ring is composed of two or more circumferentially adjacent sections which are mounted so that they can be radially displaced relative to one another and the axis of rotation of the core. The radial thickness of these sections is less in the region of the juncture than intermediate these regions. Roller elements of cylindrical configuration are carried by the outer periphery of the ring and, when the device is inserted into a bore, will contact the inner surface surrounding the same and smooth it during rotation.
