    • An invertable filter centrifuge for separating liquid-solids mixtures comprises a rotatingly driven centrifugal drum, an invertable filter cloth arranged on the centrifugal drum, a filtrate housing for receiving and discharging the liquid filtrate separated from the liquid-solids mixture by means of centrifugation with a filter cloth turned inwards into the centrifugal drum, a solids housing for receiving and discharging the solids (filter cake) separated from the liquid-solids mixture during further rotation of the centrifugal drum with a filter cloth turned outwards and an annular gap surrounding the edge of the centrifugal drum in the region of the filtrate housing and the solids housing. Protection means are provided on the invertable filter centrifuge, with the aid of which a flow of a gaseous blocking medium can be generated in the annular gap surrounding the edge of the drum, this flow preventing any undesired transfer of gaseous, liquid and/or solid substances between filtrate housing and solids housing.

    • A device for performing a weight measurement in centrifuges which serve to process chemical substances of different weights and in which fluctuating gas pressures cause different interfering forces which have an interfering effect on the weight measurement. The centrifuge is mounted so as to swivel in a vertical plane, a force measuring element senses the weight-dependent swivel movements of the machine, and a compensation means equalizes the interfering forces caused by the fluctuating gas pressures such that the weight measurement remains unaffected hereby. The compensation means comprises a sensor sensing the gas pressure in the centrifuge, this sensor correspondingly correcting a weight display as a function of changes sensed in the gas pressure.

    • An apparatus for carrying out a weight measurement in centrifuges for separating suspensions into their solid and liquid components comprises a machine housing, a drum rotatingly mounted in the machine housing and receiving the suspension, and a filler pipe leading into the drum for feeding the suspension into the drum. The machine housing is mounted for pivotal movement about an axis of rotation, and a force measuring element senses weight-dependent deflections of the machine housing occurring about the axis of rotation and originating from a different degree of filling of the drum with suspension or from a different dewatering of the solid suspension components, and the machine housing deflections are indicated on a measurement value indicator. A pipeline is provided for generating a positive pressure or a negative pressure in the drum. The line of application of the force generated in this pipeline on account of the positive pressure or the negative pressure is guided so as to intersect the axis of rotation of the machine housing, or a sensor is provided for sensing the pressure in the drum and correcting the measurement value indicator in dependence upon the pressure.

    • A solids dryer is post-connected to an invertible filter centrifuge, wherein a dehumidification and drying of the solids takes place in the invertible filter centrifuge by means of centrifugation, pressure gas compression and/or heat convection and in the solids dryer by means of heat contact and/or heat convection. The invertible filter centrifuge and the solids dryer are connected to one another to form a unit via a closure device. Sensors serve to measure the respectively prevailing degree of dehumidification and drying as well as to determine additional operating parameters. The sensors actuate a common control device which regulates the operating parameters. The control device carries out the regulation of the operating parameters automatically in such a manner that the operating times for the dehumidification and drying in the invertible filter centrifuge and in the solids dryer are coordinated with one another and at the same time the mechanical centrifugal energy and the thermal energies in invertible filter centrifuge and solids dryer are distributed in an optimum manner.

    • A sleeve filter centrifuge comprises a drum with radial filtrate passages (12) which is rotatably mounted in a housing (1), a sleeve filter cloth (15) which covers the filtrate passages, a lid (18) which closes the front of the drum and has a filling opening for suspensions to be filtered, and a filling pipe (19) which penetrates the filling opening. A threaded spindle (34) is arranged on the support shaft (9) and a nut (33,36) is engaged with the threaded spindle (34). Either the threaded spindle (34) or the nut (33,36) can be driven in rotation by a motor (44) in such a manner that the support shaft (9) telescopes in and out of the hollow shaft (3) in function of the rotational speed of the threaded spindle (34) or nut relative to the rotational speed of the hollow shaft (3).

    • Centrifuge for separating liquid and solid components from a suspension, wherein the centrifuge is provided with a centrifugal drum and a filter bag insertable therein. A boundary edge of the filter bag is attached to the discharge end of the centrifugal drum and the other boundary edge is attached to a mushroom-shaped or buffer-type bottom piece; the centrifugal drum and the bottom piece are arranged coaxially with respect to each other and are rotatable together. In addition, the drum and bottom piece are relatively axially movable with respect to each other during rotation. A lid is mounted to the bottom piece and contacts the discharge end of the drum when the bottom piece is located at the bottom of the centrifugal drum during the centrifuging process itself. The lateral walls of the centrifugal drum are tapered conically to a minor extent toward the bottom at an angle which allows removal of the centrifugal drum from the filter bag in a satisfactory and easy manner.
