摘要： A sprinkler head employing balls for a heat-sensitive disassembling unit is provided, in which the time period from when a fusible alloy starts to melt until when the sprinkler head is activated is shortened. A sprinkler head includes a frame having a stepped portion projecting inward. The stepped portion has an upper inclined surface provided at the inner-peripheral upper edge thereof and with which balls come into contact, and a guide part provided at the inner-peripheral lower edge thereof and that allows any of the balls that is displaced from the upper inclined surface to move downward from the stepped portion. When a fusible alloy melts, the ball displaced from the upper inclined surface moves along the guide part and is quickly released to the outside of the frame. Hence, the time period from when the fusible alloy starts to melt until when the sprinkler head is activated is shortened.

摘要： An apparatus is disclosed for extinguishing a stovetop fire over a stovetop having a first burner, the apparatus including a container detachably mountable to a microwave positioned above the stove top. A supply of fire suppressant material is retained within the container. A heat responsive actuator is disposed on the container. When the container is mounted to the microwave over the first burner, and the fire actuates the heat responsive actuator, at least a portion of the supply of fire suppressant material falls from the container toward the first burner.

摘要： A combined trigger and concealing device for an automatic fire protection sprinkler includes a first plate attached to a second plate by a heat fusible material. Each plate is formed with an aperture which receives an actuator depending from the bottom of the sprinkler. The trigger device depends a preselected distance from the bottom of the sprinkler body and includes a cover which has an outer dimension which conceals the internal components of the sprinkler from view. The cover includes openings and is dimensioned and positioned to permit heat energy to be received by the inner and outer surface of the trigger device. Conduction of heat energy from both the inner and outer surface of the trigger device permits the heat fusible material to be expeditiously raised to the preselected separation temperature. This construction minimizes response time of the sprinkler while maintaining a highly aesthetic appearance.

摘要： A fire suppression system in which side-discharge fire sprinklers are fitted to opposite sides of a supply line and aimed so that their coverage areas point in opposite directions. The fire sprinklers are alternated on left and right-hand sides of the supply line, and are spaced apart at a consistent interval. Each fire sprinkler includes a deflector configured to disperse the outflow of water over a non-circular coverage area. When two supply lines are installed next to each other so that half of the sprinklers on one supply line point toward the other supply line, and vise versa, the fire sprinklers are staggered so that their respective coverage areas are interlaced in the intermediate space.

摘要： An apparatus for extinguishing a fire on a stovetop, the apparatus including a container detachably mountable to a microwave positioned above the stove top, the container having a closure movable between an open and closed position on the container. A projection member is connected to the container, the projection member movable with respect to the container between a retracted and extended position. A supply of fire suppressant material is retainable within the container when the closure is in the closed position. A heat responsive actuator is disposed on the container. When the container is mounted to the microwave over a first burner, and the fire on the stovetop actuates the heat responsive actuator, the closure moves to the open position and the projection member moves to the extended position, the projection member forcing a second burner portion of the supply of fire suppressant material toward the second burner.

Each flange includes at least one check valve and a flame screen mounted in the interior of the flange to control a gas flow through the flange. The flange includes wire guide holes and set screw holes within the outside diameter of the pipe, and at least one wire segment in tension inside the pipe and connected to at least one fusible link. At least one fusible link is configured to fuse upon exposure to a temperature above 100° C. and thereby release the tension and activate at least one fire suppression device.

A second fitting (40) is secured to the second end of the flexible conduit (14) and includes the valve (42). The valve (42) has a valve element (44) which is moveable from a latched position to an unlatched position. A flexible link (56) extends from the sprinkler nozzle (16) to the X-brace valve latch (54). Breaking of the fusible element (22) releases the flexible link (56) to move from the latched position to the unlatched position, releasing the valve (42) for flow there-through.

摘要： Disclosed are an apparatus and related methods for quickly deactivating or otherwise plugging a sprinkler, wherein the deactivated sprinkler may automatically reactivate in view of an unexpected fire. Generally, the disclosed apparatus comprises: a forked clamping arm and a jaw arm with a stopper plug, wherein the forked clamping arm is positioned around a body of a fire-sprinkler and the plug is squeezed against an outlet of a fire-sprinkler via locking plier action between the clamping arm member and the jaw arm member. Suitably, a water tight seal is created by the plug over the outlet. Preferably, the plug of the apparatus may be configured to melt whenever ambient temperatures surrounding the sprinkler reach a threshold level so that the sprinkler may reactivate in view of an unexpected fire in its proximity.
