摘要： The present invention relates to an intravenous infusion set providing delivery of intravenous fluid to patients. An intravenous infusion set (10) to administer continuous air free delivery of intravenous fluid to a patient, said intravenous infusion set (10) comprising: a drip chamber (12), a flexible infusion line (22) of sufficient length connecting a lower end (20) of the drip chamber (12) to a standard connector (24) at the patient end so that a needle or a catheter could be connected to the patient; a roller clamp (26) arranged between the drip chamber (12) and the standard connector (24) being movable along the length of the flexible infusion line (22), said drip chamber (12) provided with a spike (14) on the upper end (16) and a flow regulating and stopping member (18) at its lower end (20) configured to administer continuous air free delivery of intravenous fluid to patients.

摘要： The problem of infusing air into IV tubing and into a patient from a IV fluid bag inside a pressure infusion cuff is solved by collar embodiments that inhibit the air from being forced into the IV tubing. A collar can include one or more curved arms that create a channel in which that part of the fluid bag is protected against being squeezed by a pressure infusion cuff. A collar allows the fluid bag to be squeezed by the pressure infusion cuff until such time that the fluid level is sufficiently reduced that the collar can inhibit further pressure on the fluid bag by the pressure infusion cuff. Also disclosed is a fluid bag and a pressure infusion cuff that are modified to have a collar incorporated therewith.

摘要： Disclosed is a therapeutic fluid reservoir to be used with an ambulatory portable infusion device. The reservoir includes a pliable shell defining a varying inner volume that varies based on the volume of therapeutic fluid held inside the reservoir, the varying inner volume having a predetermined maximum volume for containing a corresponding volume of therapeutic fluid and an outlet port for communicating fluid from the reservoir to a patient, the varying inner volume decreasing upon therapeutic fluid being communicated through the outlet port. Upon the reservoir reaching the predetermined maximum volume when being filled with therapeutic fluid, any therapeutic fluid in excess of the predetermined maximum volume driven into the reservoir causes a substantially corresponding amount of therapeutic fluid to exit out of the reservoir via the outlet port and/or at least one other port provided in the pliable shell.

摘要： A fluid trap apparatus includes an inlet configured to receive a flow of composite fluid into the apparatus. The composite fluid contains at least a first fluid and a second fluid. An outer wall defines an interior chamber. A flow diffuser is interposed within the interior chamber. The flow diffuser directs the flow of the composite fluid to circulate through the interior chamber. The first fluid and the second fluid separate as the composite fluid circulates through the interior chamber. A method of separating a first fluid from a second fluid includes introducing a flow of composite fluid into a separate chamber. A pressure gradient is created within the separation chamber. A flow diffuser is interposed in a flow path between an inlet and an outlet. The flow diffuser directs the flow of the composite fluid within the separation chamber. The first fluid and the second fluid are separated.

摘要： A fluid control system for delivery of a liquid includes a pneumatic drive that incorporates a linear actuator to effect known volume changes in a gas reservoir. The gas reservoir is in fluid communication with a gas-side reservoir that is separated from a fluid-side reservoir by a flexible membrane. Movement of the linear actuator effects positive or negative volume differences on the gas in the gas-side reservoir, resulting in a decrease or increase in pressure of the gas that is transmitted to the fluid-side reservoir to draw fluid, primarily liquid, in from a source or deliver liquid out to a sink. In another aspect, a mechanism is provided for the detection and elimination of air bubbles in the fluid path.
