    • Because sidewalks are slanted for rain run-off, they pose a safety risk for baby strollers if the person pushing the stroller stops and doesn't apply the brake. If s/he releases the stroller's handle when the brake is not applied, the stroller may veer off towards the curb owing to gravity, wind, the baby's movements, traffic vibrations, etc. Not applying the brake when stopped is a common mistake. While parents may remember to apply the brake when stopped, other caregivers may not. Applicant's improvement provides fully automatic slip-clutch joining means to inhibit veering off by automatically coupling the stroller's rear wheels together when the stroller is stopped. When coupled, the rear wheels must rotate in unison thus helping to prevent the stroller from veering-off toward the curb. When the stroller is being pushed the slip clutch handily becomes disengaged by turning or making other course adjustments.

    • A hub assembly for a wheelchair has a hub device and a switch device. The hub device has a hub shell, an axle, a ring and a ratchet. The ratchet has a cylinder section. The cylinder section has a recess formed in an outer surface of the cylinder section. The switch device has a pin and a wire. The pin is capable of being selectively inserted into the recess. The wire is securely connected with the pin. Because the pin is inserted into the recess and the ratchet engages the ring, the hub shell along with a wheel cannot be moved unintentionally backward on a ramp.

    • The present invention relates to a wheelchair with forced driven front caterpillar wheels with a cable-hauling ratchet lever by which a user, by himself/herself, can pass over a road-block or drains on roads, lifts up the caterpillars from the ground for easy steering on caster wheel, engages/disengages the drive wheel having ratchet clutch in the detachable wheel hub to idle the drive wheel/caterpillars for converting from/to manual drive to/from drive by auxiliary power source, and prevents the drive wheel from rolling backward during climbing inclines and controls speed continuously on a slope by a band brake means. A dog and dog mounting plate are mounted to a member of the wheelchair frame, the position of the dog being controlled by movement of an association handle connected by a cable to the dog, forward movement of the handle raising the dog away from cages of the locking ring, movement of the handle rearwardly of the wheelchair allowing the dog under spring bias to move against the locking ring until wheel movement aligns a cage of the ring with the dog and the two lock up.
