摘要： The present invention addresses the problem of, in an absorbent article, maintaining at a certain level or lower the difference between the dry flexural rigidity and wet flexural rigidity [(dry flexural rigidity)−(wet flexural rigidity)] at a bonding part. To solve this problem, provided is a sanitary napkin which comprises a top sheet, a back sheet, an absorbent body that is interposed between the top sheet and the back sheet and a compressed part that unites the top sheet and the absorbent body in the thickness direction, wherein: the absorbent body contains a cellulose-based water absorbing fiber and a thermoplastic resin fiber, said thermoplastic resin fiber containing as a monomer component an unsaturated carboxylic acid, an unsaturated carboxylic acid anhydride or a mixture thereof; and the difference between the dry Gurley stiffness and wet Gurley stiffness of the compressed part is maintained at 2.5 mN/12.5 mm or lower.

The topsheet comprises an nonwoven outer layer and an apertured thermoplastic film layer. The nonwoven outer layer has an opening positioned in the central zone. The apertured thermoplastic film layer is positioned beneath the nonwoven outer layer so that the apertured thermoplastic film layer and the nonwoven outer layer covers the end zones while the apertured thermoplastic film layer is exposed through the opening of the nonwoven outer layer in the central zone.

摘要： Method and apparatus for producing a protective covering for beds or the like comprised of a first thermoplastic web, a pair of fibrous mats of substantial loft, said web and mats being bonded together in accordance with a quilted pattern utilizing a thermoelectric bonding technique. The bonding layer, which is preferably polyurethane or a derivative thereof, forms an excellent bond with both the web and the fibrous mats. The fibrous mats provide excellent moisture absorbency and are breathable since the fibrous mats are bonded to the web only at the limited areas defined by the pattern. The first web provides an excellent waterproof barrier, while the mats provide an array of puffed-up regions each delineated by the bonding pattern to yield an aesthetically appealing cover which may be used with either fibrous web exposed. The web is of a color which makes an aesthetically pleasing contrast with the colors of the mats to yield an aesthetically pleasing protective cover in which the color of the moisture barrier layer "bleeds through" the moisture absorbing layers to yield an aesthetically pleasing product.

The absorbent articles preferably comprises a liquid pervious thermoplastic apertured film topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet, an absorbent core, and a fibrous acquisition web of spunlaced nonwoven fibers. The absorbent core is positioned between the topsheet and backsheet which are joined at least about a portion of the periphery of the absorbent article and the topsheet is fused to the acquisition web at discrete points of attachment. The acquisition web is positioned between the topsheet and the absorbent core.

摘要： Novel facing materials and methods for their manufacture are provided by this invention. The facing material includes at least a fibrous top layer for engaging body fluid and a generally opaque middle layer. A portion of the facing material is disposed, preferably by piercing, through the generally opaque middle layer to establish a fluid path through the generally opaque middle layer. In the preferred embodiment, the facing material includes a bottom layer having a capillary structure for drawing the body fluid from the fibrous top layer. In this preferred embodiment, the fibrous top layer extends through the generally opaque middle layer to provide fluid communication between the fibrous top layer and the bottom layer. These composite structures provide a clean/dry facing material that has a comfort of a textile facing and the high opacity of apertured thermoplastic films.
