摘要： Prosthetic devices suitable for replacing bone material that has been extracted from a cadaver, such as for use as transplants. The prosthetic devices include multiple elongate members and devices for securing the elongate members together. According to one embodiment, a first elongate member has a longitudinal axis, oppositely-disposed first and second ends, an exterior surface between the first and second ends, and a channel in the exterior surface and contiguous with the second end. A second elongate member is disposed in the channel so as to have a first end disposed in the channel and a second end that extends beyond the second end of the first elongate member. The elongate members and the securing device are formed from materials that do not release carcinogenic byproducts when burned, such as wood or another cellulosic material.

摘要： A light duty consumable prosthesis for use in replicating leg bones, arm bones and spinal column vertebra in a cadaver is constructed of largely consumable products to enable the prosthesis to be incinerated in the event that the host cadaver is cremated. The leg prosthesis is telescoping such that it is length adjustable to be sizable in cadavers of different leg lengths. The arm prosthesis is also of a telescoping design that includes a bendable hinge between an upper arm portion and a lower arm portion. The spinal column prosthesis is similar to the upper arm prosthesis and includes rods to assist in securing it in location.

摘要： A method comprising the steps of applying an adhesive composition to a substrate bone repair region. The adhesive composition comprises a porous, biocompatible, biodegradable, resorbable, non-toxic, and polymerizable composition. The substrate bone repair region comprises a bone structure, implant or device surface, or tooth surface. The adhesive composition is cured to provide a polymerized adhesive composition resulting in repairing or augmenting the substrate bone repair region. The adhesive composition may be mixed with a bone graft material before application. The adhesive composition may be additionally applied to a barrier membrane that is placed over the substrate bone repair region where the adhesive composition or combination of adhesive composition and bone graft material is applied.

摘要： A prosthesis for replacing bone extracted from a cadaver. A preferred prosthesis is formed of two tubes of differing diameter, the larger-diameter tube beng slidable over the smaller-diameter tube to provide a telescoping assembly. A stop is provided on the smaller tube, and is adjustably positioned thereon for operatively contacting an end of the larger tube to resist contraction of the assembly after insertion within a cadaver. Threaded pins are provided at the ends of the assembly for engagement within bone of a skeleton of the cadaver. The prosthesis retains the physical appearance of a cadaver after extraction of bone for use in surgical and other therapeutic purposes on living organisms.

摘要： The bio-bones prosthetics are designed to replace harvested bones from deceased tissue donors. Rigid bone replacement prosthetics offer structure and fill voids to provide a normal appearance to the donor. Each of the bio-bones prosthetics consist of rigid telescopic tubes, manufactured from bone colored polylactic acid, a biodegradeable material, making them ideal for both cremation and burial. They are extruded in slightly oval form, with the smaller units sliding inside the larger tubes, to provide continuous adjustment in length. A simple twist of the inner unit locks them in place. No foreign objects are need to secure them in place. This prevents any injuries to the users or cause any protrusions in the donors skin. The tubes are moldable, both prior to recovery and on-site allowing for a custom fit. Molded attachments are provided to secure the prosthetics in place.

摘要： An artificial bone replacement device includes opposite end connectors interconnected to each other by a flexible unit consisting of an outer plastic tube and an inner plastic tube. The flexible telescoped tubes provide a flexible joint permitting angular movement of the connectors relative to each other. The connector are constructed for connection to a bone structure of a cadaver or to a bone replacement element in a cadaver such as a tubular member. A shoulder replacement device includes a first connector having a projecting screw member for threading into the collar bone. The opposite connector includes a tubular member connected to the tubular plastic tubes and having an opposite outer end tubular connector for interconnection to a bone or an artificial replacement member. The tubes are secured to the connectors by a cross screw threaded through the respective connectors and tubes. A similar screw is provided to connect the outer tubular connector to the bone or a bone replacement element. The replacement device can be constructed with the screw members at the opposite end or with both end connectors formed as tubular members for telescopic reception of bone structure or bone replacement elements.

摘要： A bone replacement structure for cadavers which includes telescoping tubes which are joined to each other with a stepped coupling. The coupling includes a first member with a series of spaced openings or holes and a second member having at least one end opening larger than the diameter of the spaced openings or holes. The members are joined by a plastic covered wire which is inserted with a press fit through the small openings to firmly and fixedly interconnect the extended members in position. The outer ends of the bone replacement tubes have a hangscrew unit which is separately secured to the tube end. Each hangscrew unit includes a short cup-shaped cap which telescopes over the end of the elongated tubular member. Prior to attachment of the cap, a hangscrew is clamped to the face of the cap by an internal nut and an external nut on the threaded rod to firmly fix the hangscrew to the member with the self-tapping screw projecting therefrom. The cap is then secured to the telescoping member, as by a suitable adhesive or the like. For a shoulder or hip connection, the cap is secured to an elbow having a leg press-fitted to the bone tube for proper bone placement. At least one turn of the thread of the rod is exposed externally beyond the exterior clamping nut.
