摘要： A surgical instrument includes a housing having an elongated shaft extending distally therefrom configured to support an end effector at a distal end thereof. A handle operably couples to a drive assembly and is moveable to actuate the end effector. The drive assembly includes: front and rear drive tubes, the rear drive tube including a front washer disposed at a distal end thereof, the front drive tube including a rear washer disposed at a proximal end thereof; a stopper slidably disposed atop the front tube, the stopper and the rear washer defining a dead space therebetween; and a spring operably associated with the stopper. Initial actuation of the handle moves the front and rear drive tubes to close the end effector to grasp tissue and, once closed, further movement of the handle moves the rear drive tube to slide the stopper to eliminate the dead space.

摘要： A surgical instrument for harvesting an organ includes a surgical tool and a handle. The handle includes an actuator rotatable about an actuator pivot pin and a cam connected to the actuator and rotatable in tandem with the actuator. The surgical instrument further includes an actuator rod having a distal end connected to the surgical tool and a proximal end connected to the cam. The cam defines a slot which captures a portion of the actuator rod. The portion of the actuator rod captured in the slot is slidable within the slot as the cam rotates. Sliding of the portion of the actuator rod in the slot actuates the surgical tool.

摘要： Disclosed herein are suture clip delivery devices that can be loaded with several flat, disk-shaped suture clips and can deploy the suture clips one after another onto respective sutures without reloading the device with additional suture clips. An exemplary device includes a handle portion with an actuation mechanism that is coupled to a shaft portion that holds and deploys the suture clips. The shaft portion includes a mandrel on which the suture clips are mounted and a retainer that restricts the suture clips from moving proximally when the actuation mechanism pulls the mandrel proximally, which causes a distal-most suture clip to slide off the mandrel and be deployed onto one or more suture. The mandrel and remaining suture clips can then move distally to prepare to deploy the next suture clip.

摘要： Articulating surgical instruments are disclosed. In one embodiment, a surgical instrument may include an elongated shaft assembly including an articulable portion moveable between a non-articulated configuration and an articulated configuration. First and second articulating shafts of the elongated shaft assembly may be coaxially arranged and axially fixed at an attachment point located distally from the articulable portion. Proximal portions of the first and second articulating shafts may be displaceable in opposing directions to articulate the articulable portion from the non-articulated configuration to the articulated configuration. In another embodiment, an articulation control may be movable from a first position to a second position to move an articulation lock from a locked configuration to an unlocked configuration to selectively permit articulation of a surgical instrument. The articulation lock also may be movable from the second position to a third position to articulate the surgical instrument.

摘要： An endoscopic stitching device includes a handle assembly and an elongate shaft assembly. The handle assembly includes a main rod, a drive conversion assembly, and an unloading lock. The drive conversion assembly includes a cam wheel, a pivot block, links interconnecting the pivot block with the cam wheel, a pawl configured to engage the pivot block to rotate the pivot block, and a pusher. The unloading lock is transitionable between an engaged position in which the unloading lock engages the pusher to inhibit distal movement of the pusher, and a disengaged position in which the pusher is movable to a distal-most position. The elongate shaft assembly includes first and second blade drive members coupled with the cam wheel and a tool assembly including first and second jaws coupled with the main rod, and first and second blades coupled with the first and second blade drive members, respectively.

摘要： A surgical instrument includes a body, a shaft, and an end effector that is operable to compress, staple, and cut tissue. The end effector includes a pair of jaws. One of the jaws has a greater thickness than the other. On the thicker jaw is a placement tip that is elastically deformable from a biased curved position when the tip is subject to a force, such as the force exerted when tissue is clamped between the jaws. The placement tip extends distally from the distal end of the jaw to which it is attached. The placement tip can have a variety of shapes. The placement tip is made of a material having a lower stiffness than the material of the jaw from which the placement tip extends.

The end effector includes a distally advancing cutting member and staple driver. The translating drive member is operable to actuate the end effector. The drive assembly is in communication with the translating drive member and includes a motor, a rotary drive member, a first link, and at least one toggle link. The rotary drive member is in communication with the motor. The first link is in communication with the rotary drive member. The at least one toggle link is in communication with the first link and the translating drive member. The rotary drive member is operable to convey linear motion to the first link. The first link is able to convey linear motion to the translating drive member.

The end effector assembly includes a first jaw member and a second jaw member. At least one of the jaw members is movable with respect to the other jaw member. The drive assembly includes a drive bar extending at least partially through the elongated shaft such that longitudinal translation of the drive bar causes movement of the jaw members. The extension includes a proximal surface and a channel defined therein. The proximal surface is configured to contact a portion of the drive assembly such that movement of the handle with respect to the housing causes longitudinal translation of the drive bar. The channel is positioned for mechanical engagement by the roller.

摘要： A microsurgical instrument has a pair of operative surgical surfaces that are moved relative to each other in shearing or grasping procedures performed by the instrument. The instrument has a handle containing an elongate center rod with a ring mounted for reciprocating movement on the rod. A tube is secured to the ring and a shaft extends through the tube and is secured to the rod. The handle also includes a plurality of resilient arms that extend along the length of the rod and engage against a sliding surface of the ring on the rod. The plurality of actuator arms are alternatively manually compressed radially inwardly by the surgeon's hand and released by the surgeon's hand to allow the arms to flex radially inwardly and outwardly. The inward and outward movement of the plurality of arms reciprocates the ring on the handle rod and causes the tube and shaft to move axially relative to each other.
