摘要： A dishwasher includes a tub that accommodates dishes; a nozzle assembly that sprays washing water; a vane assembly that is moved between a first position and a second position of an inside of the tub and changes a progression path of the washing water so that the sprayed washing water can be directed toward the dishes; and a controller that moves the vane assembly to the second position if the vane assembly is disposed at the first position. When a linear washing portion washes a small quantity of dishes by spraying washing water while making a reciprocal motion in part of an inside of a washing chamber, a washing time can be reduced, and concentrated washing can also be performed.

The arrangement may include a water spray arm rotatably arranged around an axis in the washing chamber, and a support element arranged to support the spray arm in the washing chamber. The support element may lock the spray arm in at least one position within the washing chamber. The arrangement may include a control unit arranged to control the operation of the dishwasher and a user interface for selecting the desired wash zone position within the washing chamber, and arranged to communicate the information to the control unit. The control unit may lock the support element in the selected position to create the wash zone. A dishwasher that includes the arrangement and a method for creating a wash zone with a selectable position are provided.

A descaling apparatus includes a descaler chamber having a housing portion housing a descaler product container containing a descaling agent and a mixing portion containing a mix of water and a predetermined amount of the descaling agent. The housing portion is fluidly connected to the mixing portion and an inlet pipe fluidly connecting a water inlet to the descaler chamber. The descaling apparatus also includes an outlet pipe that drains the mix of water and descaling agent from the mixing portion and provides it to the tank and a spraying element in the mixing portion that sprays water from the inlet pipe towards the housing portion.

The controller can receive and process a signal from the associated utility indicative of current cost of supplied energy. The controller operates the dishwasher in one of a normal operating mode and an energy savings mode based on the received signal. The controller is configured to change the power consuming functions by adjusting one or more of an operation schedule, an operation delay, an operation adjustment, and a selective deactivation of at least one of the one or more power consuming functions to reduce power consumption of the dishwasher in the energy savings mode. The controller may modify or disable the hot start feature either prior to a wash cycle, or at an early stage of the first prewash cycle, including if a consumer elects to override the prompted energy savings mode.

A data communication link having a first data connector may be coupled to the controller, and a second data connector may be coupled to the user interface. The first and second data connectors may communicatively couple when the closure element is in the closed condition to establish data communication between the controller and the user interface. The communication link may also form a power link to provide power to the user interface across an electrical link.
