    • A magnetic tool for manipulated conveyance over a surface for magnetic collection of ferrous articles. This tool has a three-sided extruded channel, which cooperates with an opposing steel top plate to form a protective magnet housing for one or more magnets.The extruded channel is configured to direct magnet flux downward to optimize the attraction efficiency of the tool.Magnetic flux is further optimized by the use of multiple magnets in the channel housing of opposite polarity. The steel top plate channel also serves as the primary structural element of the tool for attachment of conveyance and manipulation means, such as an adjustable handle by means of an ACME collar and two axles for wheels.The invention is the three-sided extruded channel, that has an incorporated track for a free-floating hinged release lever. The release lever has been designed specifically as a means of easily removing ferrous material attracted by the three-sided channel, that allows to pass through the magnetic field from the magnets. As a means of incorporating minimal mechanical friction, the magnets are allowed to remain in a static position within the housing. A free-floating release lever is incorporated via a hinge into the extruded housing as to create a space gap between the magnetic field and the ferrous materials collected when operated. This allows for easy removal of the ferrous material without the operator having to be in direct contact with it.

    • A magnetic sweeper configured to collect magnetic metal debris, such as nails, screws, sheet metal fragments, staples, rivets and the like from a surface, and to permit easy removal of the collected debris from the sweeper is disclosed. The sweeper comprises a non-metallic body, a permanent magnet disposed within the body, a non-metallic cover hingably mounted to the underside of the body and an integrated latch configured to removably secure the cover to the body. The sweeper is configured to removably engage a handle for controlling the sweeper, and in another embodiment, an extendable, telescoping extender may be connected between the coupler and the handle to permit the sweeper to be used in a wide variety of locations. Preferably, the sweeper body is configured to swivel upon application of torque to the handle. In use, the sweeper is passed over metallic debris using the handle to guide the body. As the body passes over such debris, the magnet attracts the debris and holds it against the outer surface of the cover. When debris collection is complete, the cover is unlatched from the body, and swung outwardly from the body, thereby displacing the collected debris to a location outside of the magnetic field of the magnet and permitting the debris to fall away from the cover.

The moving member is mounted on the upper tubular section. The connecting bar member is mounted axially within the retractable tubular member, and includes an operating end portion extending into the upper tubular section and connected to the moving member, and a connecting end portion extending into the lower tubular section. The magnetic member is mounted in the receiving space, and is connected to the connecting end portion. The moving member is operable to move the magnetic member downward to an operative state, and upward to a non-operative state.

    • A magnetic scraper for manually cleaning contaminated surfaces, such as commercial kitchen exhaust duct systems, is disclosed. Two sharpened blades are positioned opposite one another secured to a body portion. An elongated, extendable arm pivotally connected to the body portion allows propelling the scraper blades either forward or backward in any direction over the extended distances imposed by duct geometry. A magnetic base surface provides self position maintenance of the body portion of the magnetic scraper. Precision dimensions over the length of the scraper body portion and the angle of blade placement permits smooth manual degreasing throughout the varying duct configurations.
