摘要： A picture hanger has a base portion having a hole for an elongated fastener (nail or screw). The base portion carries a member enclosing a front face or the entire base portion. The member has a through hole aligned with and on one or both sides of the fastener hole. The elongated fastener is held in place in the holes so that the fastener need not be manually held during driving thereof into a picture frame or wall. The member is injection molded on the base portion, and consists essentially of nylon-6,6 having a Shore A hardness in the range of 80-90.

Appendages on the base receive a tool for imparting rotation to the base for moving of the locking members into and out of frame locking positions. Portions of the base frictionally engage the frame to prevent undesired rotation of the base. The frictional portions of the base are yieldable ears formed on the locking members or, in the modified form of the invention, surfaces on the appendages of the base adapted for frictional engagement with the frame. Wall marking pins are provided for temporary installation within each base to precisely mark the wall for installation of screw means.

摘要： A support assembly for facilitating the hanging or display of a picture, preferably provided in the form of an unassembled kit, includes a plurality of separate relatively rigid elongate channel-like grid members preferably identical in construction and a plurality of attachment members preferably in the form of double-sided, acid free adhesive strips for attaching the grid members to the back of a picture. Each grid member has a plurality of slots defined at uniformly spaced locations therealong for facilitating the breaking off of an end portion thereof to provide the grid member matched in length to a dimension, such as the length or width, of the picture. A plurality of spaced apart rupturable webs are provided which span each slot and integrally interconnect portions of the grid member that define opposite sides of each slot so as to reinforce the grid members at the locations of the slots. Also, each grid member has a plurality of notches defined at spaced locations therealong for facilitating interfitting of the grid members together in a gridwork pattern. The number of slots is greater than the number of transverse notches in each grid member. A hanger element can be provided for attachment to the gridwork for facilitating hanging the gridwork and thereby the picture attached thereto. The double-sided adhesive strips can be provided separate from the grid members or alternatively preapplied thereto so that they only need to be cut off to the lengths of the grid members and applied to the back of the picture.

The support comprises a strap in which a hole is formed in one end for providing a hanger support. The other end of the strap is adapted to be bent away from the frame or plaque to give an easel-type support. Intermediate the two ends of the strap is a slot for receiving a friction-holding device or other fastening means. The strap may be rotated off-center in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction to compensate for unbalanced picture frames or plaques. The strap may also be moved relative to the fastening means to permit vertical adjustment of the strap in relation to the plaque.

摘要： A frame apparatus for displaying an article. The frame apparatus includes a support structure having a frame and a backer panel. A plurality of slots are formed into the backer panel that include a first slot that is elongated along a first axis that is parallel to top and bottom edges of the support structure and a second slot that is elongated along a second axis that is parallel to lateral edges of the support structure. The frame apparatus may include a hanging element for hanging the support structure from a support surface such as a wall. The hanging element may be configured to be slidably coupled to the support structure such that the hanging element can slide back and forth within one of the slots while remaining coupled to the support structure. This structure enables the frame apparatus to move side-to-side along the support surface while hanging therefrom.
