摘要： An adjustable folding chair is configured to include a central chair portion defining a pair of seat back mounting sections, a pair of front leg mounting sections, a pair of rear leg mounting sections, and a seat surface. A seat back is mounted on the seat back mounting sections for vertical movement to position the seat back at a desired position above the seat. Front and rear leg extensions are mounted on the front and rear leg mounting sections for vertical movement. A locking mechanism is housed in a horizontal strut in the front and rear leg extensions to control the positioning thereof. The locking mechanism includes a pair of opposing spring-biased locking pins and an actuator connected thereto that projects from the strut for engagement by the user. Such a chair construction permits the seat surface to be oriented in a plurality of discrete positions for comfortable utilization.

摘要： A dismantleable chair composed of at least two panel members. The panel members are formed from generally flat sheets of some material such as plywood by a molding process. Each panel member has a looped or arcuate section of such an extent and radius that the adjacent portions of the panel member extend approximately normal to one another. The looped portions have cross-sections that are approximately the same so that they can be nested together in a disassembled configuration. When assembled, the panels define therebetween a generally four sided closed figure. The panel members are secured together in the assembled configuration by a minimum number of releasable mounting members at the lower front and upper rear corners of this four sided figure. A back portion to the chair is provided either as a separate panel or as an extension of the front panel. The arms of the normally rear panel member can be of different lengths so as to provide adjustability between a normally upright and a reclined configuration.

摘要： A dismantleable chair comprising a back member, leg members and a seat member all formed from generally two-dimensionally shaped materials such as plywood, and the like. The back member is somewhat arcuately shaped in both the horizontal and vertical cross-sections to provide superior seating comfort and strength. The arcuate shape also provides for a unique curved compressively pre-loaded joint design among the chair members, which substantially increases the strength and rigidity of the chair. The compressively preloaded joints are protected from bending and rotational loads by their respective positioning, and the presence of other spaced apart joints. The chair can be assembled and disassembled numerous times without loosing strength and rigidity.

摘要： A chair construction of two separate yet complementary members. The first member includes two symmetrical, oppositely facing and substantially parallel side pieces held rigidly in relative position. A backrest may be provided by a first series of parallel and spaced apart slats which are secured rigidly and aligned transversely to even forward edges of the parallel side pieces of the first member. The first member also includes structure defining a gap below the backrest which has a vertical height generally the same as the depth of the side pieces. The gap is further defined by two transverse slats attached to rear edges of the side pieces. The second member includes two elongated side pieces which are substantially symmetrical with the side pieces of the first member and which are spaced apart for a distance sufficiently less than the side pieces of the first member so that the side pieces of the second member fit closely inside the side pieces of the first member. The side pieces of the second member are held rigidly in relative position by cross pieces which may also provide the seat element of the chair construction. Preferably, the seat element is provided by a second series of parallel, spaced apart slats which are aligned transversely and secured rigidly to the even upward edges of the side pieces of the second member along the front portion of the second member. Thus, the side pieces of the second member may slip through the gap of the first member to a position where the seat adjoins the back to provide the chair in its useful position. Alternatively, the second member may be slipped inside of the first member for storage and carrying purposes.
