摘要： Disclosed is a hair styling device and its employment in a specific styling method. The device comprises an elastomeric block having an elliptically-shaped substantially smooth top surface, a patterned, sculptured and textured bottom surface, and a continuous side panel integrally connected to the edges of both the top surface and the bottom surface. The bottom surface is further constructed with parallel V-shaped channels and a plurality of regularly-spaced circular chambers, the chambers being orthogonal to the bottom surface. The device is used by placing the bottom-located channels and chambers against sections of hair while simultaneously using varying pressure and rotary movement of the bottom surface upon the hair. In this manner the hair may be styled into a multiplicity of twists or spirals.

A grooming element for encasing the dreadlock is rotatably situated within the housing. The housing comprises a clamping mechanism for securing the device to the dreadlock. Once the dreadlock is secured by the clamping mechanism, the grooming element rotates around the dreadlock to integrate new hair growth into the dreadlock. The grooming element comprises a plurality of trimming components for removing any excess hair that did not integrate into the dreadlock.

摘要： Embodiments of the present invention provide a powered palm roller adapted to treat dreadlocks. In an embodiment of the invention, a powered palm roller is adapted to treat dreadlocks and includes dual holding parts each with a pad assembly affixed thereto at a distal end. The palm roller also includes an articulating joint disposed at an opposite end of each of the holding parts permitting a closing of the pad assemblies towards one another. Of note, at least one of the pad assemblies has an outwardly facing concave form, and at least one of the pad assemblies is slidably mounted to a corresponding one of the dual holding parts and actuatable back and forth along a portion of the corresponding one of the dual holding parts in consequence of a motor disposed within the corresponding one of the dual holding parts.

摘要： A hand-held, hand operated hair twining apparatus having a pivotal trigger member actuable to pivot a shaft member through a ratchet mechanism, the shaft member supporting a disc housing, configured for retaining a gear mechanism therein, the housing supporting first and second hair clamp members rotatable relative to the housing by means of the gear mechanism. Actuation of the trigger member with the housing restrained rotates both clamp members and the filaments of hair therein to twist the filaments into strands. Actuation of the trigger member with the housing released interchanges the positions of the clamp members in a direction opposite to the twist to produce a twine.

摘要： Disclosed is a hair styling apparatus and its employment in specific hairstyling methods. The apparatus is a mechanized, motorized device configured to operate in conjunction with a hairstyling attachment, said device comprising an ordered arrangement of components which, when motorized in a connected manner, cause the meshed rotation of two internal pivot gears, the pivot gears having irregularly-spaced undersurface dock holes connectable to a planar grip housing. The pivot gears induce selectable rotation modes of the planar grip housing; further, the grip housing is capable of securely gripping the attachment. A preferred attachment comprises an elastomeric block having an elliptically-contoured, substantially smooth top surface, and a patterned, sculptured bottom surface constructed with parallel V-shaped channels and a plurality of circular chambers. In this manner, when hair is placed in contact with the motorized device and its attachment, the hair may be styled into a multiplicity of twists or spirals.

An electric motor is energized and a stop engages a rotatable body thereby to block rotation of the body and permit a planetary gear system to rotate individual hair twisting elements to form twisted hair strands. When the switch is moved to a second conductive position, the blocking element is removed so the rotatable body wraps the twisted strands over each other into a braid without any significant motion of the twister bodies with respect to the rotatable body. A stand supports the hair braider and facilitates the attachment of hair strands to the hair twisting elements.
