    • The present invention relates to a fermenter, a microwave oven including the fermenter, and a method of controlling the fermenter and microwave oven. The fermenter of the present invention comprises a fermenter casing having one open side and defining a fermenting chamber; a fermenter door for selectively opening or closing the fermenting chamber; a thermoelectric element for applying heat to the fermenting chamber or absorbing heat from the fermenting chamber; and a current switching device for converting current supplied to the thermoelectric element such that the thermoelectric element can absorb or generate heat. According to the present invention, the fermenter can be very conveniently employed and a microwave oven with various functions can also be provided.

    • A yogurt cheese making device for separating the whey from yogurt having a strainer which receives the yogurt, the strainer having an open top, a bottom, a pair of opposing end walls, and a pair of opposing side walls. The side walls and bottom are covered with a straining medium which is a wire mesh. The wire mesh is disposed at a 45.degree. angle with respect to the vertical to assist in drainage. The bottom of the strainer is defined by a pair of parallel straining troughs. The strainer is nested in a sealable container which has a sealing top. Whey from the yogurt seeps through the straining medium and is collected at the bottom of the sealable container. The entire device is preferably square or rectangular in shape to minimize the storage area required in a refrigerator.

    • A temperature sensing device for a food storage container accurately detects the internal temperature of a storage chamber to achieve an accurate on/off control for heating and cooling cycles by minimizing a temperature fluctuation existing in the storage chamber. The temperature sensing device includes a temperature sensor to sense a temperature of the storage chamber and generate an electrical signal representative of the sensed temperature; a control unit, having a microprocessor, to control the cooling system based on the electrical signal generated by the temperature sensor; and a metallic fixing bracket for fixing the temperature sensor to the inner liner at a position near an inlet portion of an evaporator receiving a cooled refrigerant from a condenser, such that the temperature sensor is in close contact with the outer surface of an inner liner of the storage chamber, to establish a thermally conductive path between the inner liner and the temperature sensor. The fixing bracket has a sensor housing for tightly receiving the temperature sensor therein; and at least one pipe receptacle integrally extended from the sensor housing and fitting tightly around a first pipe portion of the inlet portion of the evaporator, to establish a thermally conductive path from the first pipe portion to the temperature sensor.
