    • A manually operable flying insect trap includes an elongated hollow cylindrical body having two generally closed ends and a small orifice in each of the ends. A vacuum device including a bellows, first and second ends of an intermediate pleated portion. The bellows also has a compressed state and an expanded state and is disposed adjacent a first of the opposite ends of the body with a small opening adjacent to and in communication with the small orifice in the first of the opposite ends. The funnel shape trap portion is also provided with a small orifice in the narrow portion thereof, a cone shaped piece of fly paper is attached to the inside of the tunnel shaped trap. Finally, a manually activatible mechanism is provided for expanding the bellows to draw air into or out of the body.

    • The cleaning applicator (1) assembled to the main adapter body (2), for use in cleaning applications.     • A device for catching insects is provided which includes an elongated member with first and second distal portions, an insect trapping head mounted on the first distal portion, and an actuating mechanism. The insect trapping head includes a first member and a second member pivotally mounted with respect to each other such that one of the members is moveable from about 0 to about 340 degrees relative to the other member, and preferably to about 270 degrees relative to the other member by activation of the actuating mechanism. When in the closed position, the first and second members define a rigid compartment such that the insect can be trapped between the first and second members. Preferably, a sticky surface on at least a portion of the interior of the compartment maintains the insects within the compartment.

    • A tubular fingertip covering or cot made of latex rubber or other flexible material is coated with a tacky or non-tacky adhesive that may include a pediculicide preparation. After the operator's index finger is inserted into the tubular fingertip covering, a layer or coating of adhesive is applied to the protective covering. During inspection, the infested hair is combed to expose lice and dislodge nits, which are then collected by adhesive contact. Because the adhesive covering is on the fingertip, the protected finger can follow the quick movements of the lice, and can collect and retrieve lice and nits from between hair follicle shafts. The fingertip covering is rolled-up or turned inside-out after use, thereby permanently encapsulating the collected lice and nits for hygienic disposal, without risk of escape or transfer to another host.
