    • The invention provides a device for stabilizing an outboard motor during transport in two embodiments. A first preferred embodiment includes a rigid block which is pivotally mounted from a bracket so as to be adjacent to a yoke which connects between the push rod end of a steering cable and a link to the outboard motor. The block has a hole in a position to enable engagement of an extended bolt on the yoke and can be pivoted to cause such engagement. In the engaged position, a wing nut is tightened to hold the block in position over the bolt, thus preventing movement of the outboard motor.In the second embodiment, a split block is provided of a material possessing a highly frictional surface. The split block has a hole with a split to an outer surface and is permanently mounted with a push rod of the steering cable extending through the hole. To secure the outboard motor against movement during transport, the split is clamped tightly with a transverse bolt to bring pressure from the inner surface of the hole on the push rod.

    • The invention apparatus provides a winching mechanism which is detachably secured to the forward end of the tongue of a trailer. In a first embodiment, a slip nut on a crank operated vertical threaded drive shaft is attached to one end of a cable the opposite end of which is fitted with a snap hook which can be secured to a ball mount. The cable passes around a pulley at the base of a tubular housing in which the threaded shaft and slip nut are mounted. The pulley is located below the tongue. The cable is provided with a hook which is connected to a ball mount and when the drive shaft is driven by the crank causes the front of the trailer to be lifted and drawn to the towing vehicle for connection of the ball socket to the ball on the ball mount. In a second embodiment, the cable is wound on a crank operated drum and is fed to a pulley located below the tongue in a tubular housing of shorter length than employed in the first embodiment.

The shank unit provides an elongated shank member which mounts a trailer ball at one end coupled to a conventional trailer hitch ball socket housing secured to the trailer and at the opposite end is formed to slide on funnel-like guide passages into the receiving unit. The receiving unit has a locking pin which can be latched into a position allowing entry of the shank member into the receiving unit and when the shank unit is properly positioned therein is automatically unlatched and moved into a position for locking the shank unit and receiving unit together. The locking pin when restored to the latched position enables the shank unit to be withdrawn from the receiving unit.

    • A sliding jack post stand for a trailer is capable of movement in either of two directions by application of downward force on a lever by an operator standing on one side of a trailer to be moved. A low friction plate is mounted above and spaced from a ground plate on an intermediate spacer and support plate. A slider having parallel side edges bent to enclose opposed side edges of the low friction and support plates in sliding relation supports the lower end of a trailer jack post. The slider has a fulcrum located opposite a series of nests formed in the base plate. The base plate also has a fulcrum located opposite a series of nests formed in the slider. Movement in a first linear direction is accomplished by a force applied downwardly on the handle of an articulated lever placed against one fulcrum and one of the series of nests. Movement in a second linear direction is accomplished by a force downwardly on the handle of the lever placed against the other fulcrum and one of the other nests thereby minimizing the opportunity for back injury.
