    • A handle assembly mountable on a valve is disclosed. The assembly includes a head having a receptacle engageable with a rotatable shaft on the valve and a grip projecting outwardly from the head to facilitate turning of the head for actuating the valve. An arcuate slot is positioned in the head, the slot having a curvature matched to the arcuate motion of the handle when used to turn the valve shaft. A limit post is attached to the valve and projects through the slot. A jam nut is mounted on the post adjacent to the head. When tightened against the head the jam nut fixes the position of the head relatively to the valve. A bolt is positioned within the slot and retained by a nut. The bolt is movable along the slot to a predetermined position where it can be temporarily fixed by tightening the nut. The bolt acts as a memory stop when it engages the limit post as the head is turned.

    • An apparatus and method for forming grooves in a pipe for receiving mechanical pipe clamps are disclosed. The apparatus includes a holding fixture for securing the pipe and a carriage rotatably mounted on the holding fixture. Two arms are pivotably mounted on the carriage and extend on opposite sides of the pipe. Each arm has a grooving roller rotatably mounted thereon. An actuator connects the arms and forces the grooving rollers into engagement with the pipe. The carriage, arms, actuator and grooving rollers are rotated about the pipe in an orbit to form the circumferential groove. The method steps include forcing the grooving roller into the surface of the pipe at a fixed rate per revolution of the grooving rollers about the pipe in the orbit.

    • A valve is disclosed having an inlet duct aligned with an outlet duct and an angularly oriented elliptical seat positioned between them. A pressure chamber faces the seat. A pivoting valve closure member is positioned between the pressure chamber and the seat. An asymmetrical rolling diaphragm is attached to the closure member and defines part of the pressure chamber. A seat engaging surface on the side of the closure member opposite the pressure chamber is sealingly engageable with the seat to close the valve. The valve closure member is pivoted into the closed positioned by pressurizing the pressure chamber. The valve remains closed against hydraulic pressure in the inlet duct. The valve is permitted to open by de-pressurizing the pressure chamber, allowing the closure member to pivot out of engagement with the seat. Fluid may then flow from the inlet duct to the outlet duct.
