    • A support structure having a seat surface (2), particularly for bicycles and other pedal operated machines, comprises a substantially rigid or semirigid frame (3), means for connecting the frame (3) to the bicycle or a pedal operated machine, a yieldable padding (7) secured to the top face of the frame (3), a covering layer (8) superimposed to the yieldable pad (7), characterized in that the frame (3) has one or more differential rigidity portions (11, 11′) adapted to facilitate the pedaling motion. The differential rigidity portions (11, 11′) are situated at an outer peripheral edge (13) of the frame (3), along which at least one recess (12) is provided. Each differential rigidity portion (11, 11′) comprises a plurality of projections (14) extending outwardly of recesses (12) formed in the frame (3).

    • The present invention is applicable to the field of sport and leisure accessories and particularly relates to a process for making integral elastic supports as well as to integral elastic supports obtainable by such process. The invention also relates to a mold for making such supports, as well as a molding apparatus including such mold, for carrying out the above process. The process includes the step of forming at least one pad element from a resilient material, to be associated to a frame made of a substantially rigid or semirigid material whose outer edge defines a peripheral portion in combination with said pad. The process is characterized further includes the step of forming a bead from a substantially waterproof material near the peripheral portion to prevent any undesired infiltration into such portion.

    • An ultra light multilayer saddle structure, particularly for pedal-driven vehicles, includes a support frame optionally covered with a resilient padding. The frame has a first skin and a second skin, between which a spacer core is interposed. The first and the second skin include at least one layer of a first material and one layer of a second material respectively, selected among those having a predetermined density and a relatively high compressive and shear strength. The core has at least one layer of a third material whose density is lower than that of the first and second materials. The core is adapted to keep the skins spaced-apart, to increase the stiffness and mechanical strength of the frame, while reducing the overall weight thereof. A process for making a frame for the saddle structure is provided.

    • The present invention finds application in the field of sport and leisure accessories, and particularly relates to a seat structure having controlled and customizable elasticity, particularly for vehicles. The structure, which is designed to be connected to a movable or stationary frame, includes a support element having a bottom surface and a top surface, which is designed to support at least partly a user, a connection member to be associated to the support element for anchorage thereof to the movable or stationary frame, and at least one shock absorbing element, which is designed to absorb shocks and vibrations transmitted from the frame to the support element. The shock absorbing element includes an elastic member, which has a first elasticity modulus, and which is provided between the bottom surface of the support element and the connection member. Moreover, the elastic member has at least one seat for a corresponding insert, which has a second elasticity modulus, and which may be added by a user to control and selectively adjust the overall elasticity of the shock absorbing element.

    • An integral elastic support structure (1) comprising a filler (3) in elastically yielding material covered by a covering layer (4) in flexible laminar material. The filler (3) has in its inside at least one ornamental element (5) and the covering layer (4) has at least one optically transparent zone (7) through which the cited ornamental element is visible. The covering layer (4) may be formed by a sheet of uniformly transparent synthetic material which is opacified in the zone which is complementary to the optically transparent zone.
