    • A film feeding apparatus for a film scanner includes a bottom plate, a top plate formed with a slide slot and a feed-in hole, a movable plate movable between the bottom plate and the top plate, and an actuator member co-movable with the movable plate. The movable plate cooperates with the actuator member to constitute a sliding seat that is movable between a non-feeding position whereat the actuator member is disposed in an end of the slide slot such that the movable plate is misaligned from the feed-in hole in the top plate, and a feeding position whereat the actuator member is disposed in an opposite end of the slide slot such that the movable plate is aligned with the feed-in hole. When the sliding seat is moved from the non-feeding position to the feeding position, a film is pushed into the film scanner.

    • A contactless operating device for a digital equipment and method for the same are provided. The contactless operating device includes a computer, a projecting piece, a pointer, and an image-capturing piece. The computer provides a basic picture, and the projecting piece projects the basic picture onto an image zone. Further, the pointer forms a mark onto the image zone for providing a reference picture, and the image-capturing piece connected to the computer captures the reference picture from the image zone. The computer operates the digital device in accordance with a comparison between the basic picture and the reference picture.

    • An apparatus for holding a contact image sensor of a scanning system includes a supporting shaft and an elastic element. The supporting shaft is set through a holder and contact the contact image sensor. The elastic element contains a spring. The spring is positioned outside the holder and provides a force to the supporting shaft for pushing the contact image sensor upwardly. In this case, the contact image sensor stays close to a document plate to conduct scanning processes. Since the spring is outside the holder, the variation of holder due to manufacturing would not affect the force from the spring. Thus balanced forces are generated by the springs, further avoiding the situation of the contact image sensor jammed during scanning processes.

    • A method of controlling a parallel port for connecting multiple devices is disclosed. The method controls the connection between a computer and one of the peripheral devices by way of using the different on-line codes corresponding to the peripheral devices respectively. Further, a common off-line code is set and shared by all peripheral devices. When the off-line code is sent out, all peripheral devices are disconnected from the computer, and the control status of the previous on-line device is backed up for the use of recovering the previous on-line state. Furthermore, a parallel port for connecting multiple devices is also proposed to incorporate with the controlling method such that the computer can switch the on-line state between an on-line peripheral device and the other peripheral standby devices.
