摘要： Methods for determining the hardness and/or ductility of a material by compression of the material are provided as a first aspect of the invention. Typically, compression is performed on multiple sides of a geologic material sample in a contemporaneous manner. Devices and systems for performing such methods also are provided. These methods, devices, and systems can be combined with additional methods, devices, and systems of the invention that provide for the analysis of compounds contained in such samples, which can indicate the presence of valuable materials, such as petroleum-associated hydrocarbons. Alternatively, these additional methods, devices, and systems can also stand independently of the methods, devices, and systems for analyzing ductility and/or hardness of materials.

摘要： A technique for providing automated direction and guidance to nurses to assist in the task of dispensing medication to patients. Information on all patients is stored in a stationary base computer. Information pertinent to the medication dispensing task is transferred from the base computer to a portable, hand-held computer adapted to be carried by the nurse during rounds. One portable computer contains information for only those patients assigned to one nurse. As the nurse approaches a patient, the portable computer is activated to display the name of each medication to be dispensed to that patient along with dose, route, and comments. The nurse enters into the portable computer whether the medication was dispensed or not. It can, thus, be determined whether any medication remains to be dispensed, and why it has not yet been administered. At the completion of rounds, data is transferred from the portable computer to the base computer to update the information stored in the base computer.

摘要： The present disclosure provides a system and related methods for automatically supplying one or more reservoirs with fluid while the fluid level within those reservoirs is below a threshold level, and while there is still enough fluid in the supply to refill them. The reservoirs, which may be coupled to fog or haze machines, are thus maintained at appropriate levels for as long as the fluid supply lasts, without the requirement for manual labour and active monitoring. The system comprises a pump and sensor module which monitors liquid levels both in the supply tank and in the one or more reservoirs, controlling the pump appropriately to keep the reservoirs full but prevent overfilling.
