    • An automatic seat belt system, having; a guide rail disposed in a room of a vehicle, a slider engaged with one end of a webbing for restraining an occupant of the vehicle and guide by the guide rail in a manner capable of moving therealong between a webbing-application canceling position and a webbing applying position, and a slider retaining member which engages with the slider and retains thereof at the webbing applying position and which enables to alter the retaining position while retaining the slider. The automatic seat belt device further comprises a connecting mechanism, having; a first elongated member arranged along the longitudinal direction of the guide rail and a part of which is anchored to the slider, a second elongated member whose one end face is faced to an end face of the first elongated member from the direction from the webbing applying position to the webbing-application canceling position and which is moved in a first direction in which the one end face approaches to the end face of the first elongated member by means of driving force of a driving source and in a second direction which is the reverse direction thereof, and an abutting section which is located between the first elongated member and the second elongated member.

    • In a webbing tension device adapted for use in a webbing retractor for a vehicle in which a takeup shaft retracting an occupant restraining webbing thereon is biased in a direction of a webbing retraction by small resilient means and in an emergency situation of the vehicle a biasing force of large resilient means is transmitted to the takeup shaft through one clutch means so that the takeup shaft is biased in the direction of the webbing retraction by the large resilient means, another clutch means is disposed between the takeup shaft and the large resilient means. Accordingly, when the webbing is fully retracted on the takeup shaft after the vehicle is released from the emergency situation, the another clutch means is put in its connected situation, and when the webbing is unwound from the takeup shaft after it is retracted fully on the takeup shaft, an unwinding rotation of the takeup shaft is transmitted to the large resilient means, so that the large resilient means is wound up.

    • A webbing lock apparatus for use in a vehicle has a U-shaped frame, and a webbing take-up shaft rotatably supported by a shaft carriage. The carriage is pivotally mounted on the frame and biased toward one direction. When an emergency situation of a vehicle occurs, a ratchet is activated so as to lock the take-up shaft and to cause the shaft carriage to pivot on the frame in another direction as a result of the webbing tension. This movement causes the webbing wound around the take-up shaft to abut against a fixed pressing member also mounted on the frame. In consequence, the amount of webbing wound off of the take-up shaft in an emergency situation of the vehicle is minimized.

    • A tension apparatus for tensing a webbing of a seatbelt system for a vehicle in an emergency situation of the vehicle, thereby allowing the webbing to be tightly fitted to the occupant's body. When an emergency situation of the vehicle occurs, a relatively large spiral spring for rotating a webbing take-up shaft with a relatively strong force so that the webbing is wound up is connected to a worm wheel.
